Ugh. The narration.

I’m going to start this out by saying the story is cute, short & pleasant. The HEA is sweet & the characters are easy to like. That said, the narrator was insulting. She tried her best to make the characters as unlikeable as possible. The women came off as insipid & the men as fun as cardboard. If that’s how she views people from the South she needs not narrate them in the future.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes and No I would recommend this audio book to friends. I LOVE LOVE the story but the reader Katie just did not do it for me. It was very slow and there were times when I found myself wandering and looking at other things and doing other things. I hate to say this because I have listened to hundreds of audio books and I loved them but there is just something I did not care for with this reader.

This is what I expected from the reader for her to be more like Adam Paul. He is energetic and fun and exciting all in one. He makes me wish I was sitting right in his lap like a kid listening to him read. His voice has this presence to it that grabs a hold of you and keeps you there and wanting no that is not right needing more from him.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the story in general because man this series is SO off the hook that I wanted Bethany to write more!

I wish Adam Paul could narrate this series!

I Choose You

A sweet listen that shows you can follow your beliefs and find your value all while falling in love. I really enjoyed this story and will be looking forward to the next in this series.

Great Read

I Choose You (Friends & Lovers #2) was a good read by Bethany Lopez. Nicole’s life has been mapped out for her; go to college, marry Jake, and become a minister’s wife. She finally leaves that life to be free in a small town in Texas. She meets Kent, a guy with a lot of charm and passion. After his upbringing he does what he can to keep relationships simple. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
