Stephen King
Dark dreams that warned of the coming of the dark man. The apostate of death, his worn-down boot heels tramping the night roads. The warlord of the charnel house and Prince of Evil.
His time is at hand. His empire grows in the west and the Apocalypse looms.

Reseñas de la Crítica
[The Stand] has everything - adventure, romance, prophecy, allegory, satire, fantasy, realism, apocalypse . . . Great!
A masterpiece . . . King says in the novel's introduction that he "wanted to write a fantasy epic like The Lord of the Rings, only with an American setting", and that's absolutely what he did . . . The Stand is dense and rich. Every character is full and alive
A fabulous teller of stories who can create an entire new world and make the reader live in it
His work plumbs with unnerving accuracy, the hopes and fears of an entire nation
As a storyteller, he is up there in the Dickens class.
A writer of excellence . . . King is one of the most fertile storytellers of the modern novel

The characters in this book are some of the most fully realized and complex that I have ever encountered in my long career as a constant reader. From Stu Redman to Frannie Goldsmith, each one of them is so finely drawn that they practically leap off the page and into your heart.
And the story itself? Well, let me just say that Stephen King has outdone himself here. "The Stand" is a tour de force of apocalyptic horror, a tale of good versus evil that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.
But what really sets this book apart, in my humble opinion, is the sense of dread that permeates every page. King is a master of atmosphere, and the world he creates in "The Stand" is one that is at once terrifying and all too believable.
So if you're looking for a book that will keep you up at night, that will make you question everything you thought you knew about the world around you, then look no further than "The Stand." This is Stephen King at his very best, and it doesn't get much better than that.
