Publisher's summary

"What happens with the Divas, stays with the Divas."

Welcome to a genteel world of pimento-cheese finger sandwiches, tall libations in frosted glasses, stiletto heels, aging southern-belle sisterhood, and murder....

In Dixie Divas, Trinket Truevine, her pal Bitty and their raucous diva friends in the historic small town of Holly Springs, Mississippi, solved the murder of Bitty's ex-senator husband, Phillip. Now, in Drop Dead Divas, the Divas are sleuthing again. Town bad girl Naomi Spencer has been accused of murdering her fiancé, drag-race champion Race Champion. Soon, Naomi turns up dead, too. Talk about a fly in the martini...

Join the bawdy fun as Trinket, Bitty and the gang unravel another small-town mystery.

Cute, loveable southern divas made me giggle

Maybe it's because I live in Tennessee or maybe it's because I know ladies just like these ladies -- but I found these "Diva" books to be delightful, silly, and fun. They are murder mysteries but certainly different than any I've read/heard before. For those of you who are looking for intellectual, SERIOUS, thought-provoking books, maybe these aren't for you. But for those of you over-40 women who may have experienced a hot sunny summer afternoon of teenaged silliness with your girlfriends, having a Sonic frozen drink with a little boost while laying in the pool (problems put on hold for an afternoon) ... then you are going to love these books. For those of you who have NOT experienced that, for heaven's sake, do so soon! And listen to these books!

Another hit!

The Southern belles are at it again and it's just plain fun. The story is involved enough to keep you interested and guessing but the real treat is the characters and the narrator's accents. Listening to the trouble Trinket and Bitty get into is a little like watching Lucy and Ethel. This is another highly enjoyable listen. The quality of this story and narration means I will be enjoying this tale time and time again.

This is a fun take on murder mysteries.

What made the experience of listening to Drop Dead Divas the most enjoyable?

The narrator does so many different character voices it make you believe there are different people doing each character.

What other book might you compare Drop Dead Divas to and why?

Not sure

What about Karen Commins’s performance did you like?

I like her reading each character in with a believable different voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really, I enjoyed it but I would need a break from time to time.

Any additional comments?

I just think theses books are a fun take on a murder mystery. I read so many thriller books that this one takes the serious tones out and makes it a little fun without any disrespect for the murder victim.

Not impressed with the narrator.

What made the experience of listening to Drop Dead Divas the most enjoyable?

The story is fantastic. Being from KY TN border, I know these ladies. Maybe different names but I went to church with all of these ladies.
Unfortuently, the narration is so poor that I suffered through this book and one other of the Divas. I'm not sure I can get through another, which is a shame because I really enjoy the stories. I was never sure what the emotion of the situation should be, it was all so monotone that it was hard to get the feel of the situation. The accents are somewhere between Southern (my native tongue) and a bad NJ accent.

Would you be willing to try another one of Karen Commins’s performances?

No

Wasn't what I expected....

Bought this book to listen to because of the reviews. I, however, didn't "get it" as a book that kept my attention. I did listen to the entire book but it was a chore, not something I looked forward to as I usually do. Performance was good with all the southern accents but the story to me was stupid. If this is a series, I'm not a fan.

Great series

Anyone listening to this series will absolutely love it! It's got it all and you'll find yourself laughing. The divas are always getting themselves in some kind of sticky situation. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Hilarious!

What a fun and entertaining book! I love the characters, the setting and mostly the relationship between Trinket and Bitty. Sure wish I was in the Divas' circle!
