Thoroughly entertaining!

I loved this book so much that I didn't want to turn it off. I was listening to it while hiking at the mountain and I got some amused looks when passers-by saw me laughing out loud. It's funny, interesting, insightful and honest. My only disappointment is that it ended.

I love Tina Fey.

Well, I love her, but I’m not in love with her, you know? From Saturday Night Live, to 30 Rock, to movies, she can do no wrong, and continues to do no wrong in her memoir. It’s funny, it’s interesting, it’s self-deprecating, it’s relatable, and she is adorable. I definitely would have enjoyed more behind-the-scenes at SNL-type stories. As funny as the parts about her father, Don Fey, are (he sounds superhumanly cool), I would rather a tiny bit of dirt on what celebrities make bad hosts. This book is short and sweet.

Funny book but too much swearing

I love Tina Fey and think she is very talented and entertaining. I just can't get past the frequent profanity. I had to give the book up before completion.

Funny! and real...despite that she's a celeb

Tina Fey might be a celebrity but this isn't about celebrity life. it is about a woman trying to succeed and survive in her life...just like any woman. She performs her words in away that you find yourself talking back to her..."Atta Girl!" "Palin ain't got nothing on you girl! When I remember that campaign, I don't remember pics of the real Palin. I remember you!"...Yes, this crazy....especially coming from the shower (yes, Audioable is better than music)...but Tina says crazy is ok. Listen to her embrace herself and realize you need to embrace who you are too. Have fun laughing.

Funny. Smart. Encouraging.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?

I really enjoyed the section where Fey spoke about the Presidential election and playing Palin. I found it truely interesting how much thought and effort went into that role, particularly the decision to let Palin on SNL. As someone who followed the election, I took her performance at face value and never thought about the vast amount of contemplation that goes into the sketch creation process. Seeing the flip side of the coin increases my appreciation of Fey and others, particularly the ground-breaking women, in comedy.

Any additional comments?

This book reads, much like a stand-up session from Fey. Lots of little loosely-connected humerous stories over the course of her life and career. For that reason, it was easy to listen in the car in small amounts, because you didn't have to recall the previous stories. Fey talks fast, so I found myself rewinding a lot, but I will definitely go back for a second listen. Overall, this is a great book. Funny, sassy, honest, and even motivating. Classic Fey.
