still a great and meaningful read

my grand daughter and I listened to this over the last word days. it had been a favorite of her step mother's, and although her life has been very different she was drawn to the story, identifying with many of Claudia ' s feelings and enjoying the adventure. I still had tears in my eyes during the last 20 minutes.

wonderful story

I loved this book when I was a kid. I bought this audible so that my daughter and I could listen to it together. By the end of the story, three of my children were gathered around wanting to hear the end! I still love the story now as much as I did as a kid!

This story never gets old!

This was a favorite of mine back in 5th grade. each time I read it, or listen to it, I am reminded of it's timelessness. This is a wonderful story for anyone to enjoy and reconnect with over and over again. Pass this gem along to your little readers!

Love the book, love the narrator

The book is excellent. The narrator did a great job. My daughter begged me to keep playing the book. When it ended my daughter begged for more and for a sequel. Can't beat that.

Bing-read this in one night!

I’m a teacher and read this in one night after a co-worker recommended it. I can’t believe I haven’t read it until now! It was funny, engaging and captivating from start to finish. Interest level ages 8+ as a read aloud, reading level-5/6th grade and up. There are so many life skills and content that could be incorporated into lessons from this book! From a teacher perspective, the only small criticism I have would be a couple parts talking about naked ladies (in reference to artwork), and when the kids find a candy bar and the sister tells her brother (for a couple paragraphs) that it might be filled with poison or marijuana. From my perspective these parts might make it tough to read in school....otherwise it’s an incredible book and I highly recommend it!!
