Publisher's Summary

Humans are hardwired for awe.

Whether it's the Grand Canyon, a beautiful work of art, or the birth of a baby, we love to be amazed. But there's something-or someone, rather - who surpasses all others: God himself.

Helping us kindle an ever-growing passion for God's glory, this book by popular author Paul David Tripp reminds us of the importance of awe for shaping everything we choose, decide, think, desire, say, and do. Reflecting on how awe for God impacts our approach to spiritual warfare, ministry, material things, and more, Tripp will energize your love for God by opening your eyes afresh to the glory of his love, grace, and power.

Fantastic book!!

First of all, definitely loved the narration by Bevan Greiner because it made the book easy and quite enjoyable to follow.
This book was great because it taught me that most of my problems--apart from just having a sin nature and a propensity towards it-- are linked to having a low view of God. However if I redirected my views and had an AWE of God, I would be able to see things quite clearly because holding such a high view of God causes me to see everything clearly.
I highly recommend this book!!

Great Summation of our longing...

At first I was annoyed by how many times awe was used but the author won me over with his illustrations and effective use of scripture to emphasize his points. I am now much more aware of the fight for awe that rages on inside my spirit and have a clearer understanding of those characterized by an awe of God over and above awe of self. The narration had good level of tempo and expression. Enjoyed listening to this book and look forward to more by this author.

Profound subject matter and well read.

Paul Tripp has written a book that explores and exposes the root of what drives humankind. Awe is in our spiritual DNA and this book helps open our eyes to how this happens.

Convicting

Cut-to-the-heart, inescapable examples and illustrations, convicting and thrusts us to His presence for mercy, stirring a driving desire to learn more of His grace. May we all learn to have a proper awe of God!

Really solid, but...

Foundational to understanding your christian walk. Awe is essential to walking right and putting God first!
The problem I had with this book is that I already know I have an awe problem, I already know too many things take my attention away from God. I bought this book hoping it would help me put God first even more and sadly found it lacking.
Maybe it’s just as simple as recognizing, praying for a renewal of your mind, and time. But I was hoping for more solutions.

A must read for all

Awe is a longing that we so often misplace. Tripp points it out to us, he keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see how you will react. He knows your heart better than you think. How? Because we all long for Awe, it’s a human condition. Are dissatisfied, discontent and overworked, you must read this book. We are never satisfied, until we behold the greatness of God. Thanks Paul
