Publisher's summary

In the future, even the broken can make a change...

When a nascent AI hacks her holo device, Molly Bates has to think fast and get out of the military before anyone discovers what has happened. The only problem?

The swiftest way out is also the most embarrassing. Mortifyingly embarrassing.

Ever the underdog, Molly refuses to stay down. What follows is a rough and tumble adventure that takes Molly and her team of change makers up against an enemy with power they had not considered.

Regrouping off world, they set up base on an asteroid that has its own mysteries to uncover.

Please note: Inside this book is cursing, amusing cursing, but cursing nonetheless. If bad language offends you, perhaps this book is not for you.

Set on the foundation laid by the Kurtherian Gambit Series, Awakening tells an entirely new story in the Age of Expansion - when the Etheric Empire is fast becoming the Etheric Federation with all of the trials and tribulations that come with bringing together different peoples, systems, and ideals.

Molly's accent makes this great book even better

What can I say the book is a good start to a great series. Then you add Pear Hewitt to the mix with her voice for Molly and it makes the audiobook one of the top 5 iv "read" this year (out of 100+ so far fyi) She even beats out a couple of Emily Beresford performances on other TKG books and that says a LOT.

I LOVED this

I really enjoyed listening to this audio version of the TKG community. Hearing Pearl doing Molly fits perfectly with the way I thought she should sound. Definitely looking forward to listening to the next one.

Great great audio to accompany the book!

I wrote a long review on the book on Amazon and Goodreads, so the only expounding I am going to do is to say how well Pearl narrated this book, excellent accent. I spent years in the U.K. So I'm quite used to and actually adore the British and English accents. Thanks Pearl, check out my review on Amazon and/or Goodreads

Another great KGU book

Any additional comments?

As always another fantastic read/listen. This is a future story in the KG universe and wow another set of great characters read by a very enjoyable reader. She really brings to life these characters. It was funny, engrossing and super fun. I cant wait to get on to the next one in the series. Keep up the great work everyone.:)

I love Molly Bates

Wow, I'm really glad I took a chance on this book series. I've never read any of the Kutherian Gambit series so I wasn't sure if it I would be missing any important plot points, but I didn't feel lost at all. I really enjoyed everything about this book. I liked and cared about the entire group. I laughed at the sometimes crazy conversations between Molly and Oz. I love the non romantic relationship between Molly and Joel and that she's the one in charge of the team. I love strong women protagonists and Molly is tough as nails when faced with combat but also vulnerable when face with interpersonal relationships. I will enjoy watching Molly and the team grow. Now, I need to get the next book👋

I absolutely loved this book!

Molly is a fabulous character. She was so interesting and I think I can relate to her in many ways. I liked seeing her struggle with morality and grow alongside Oz. I'm looking forward to seeing where this series goes and I've already got the second book which I will be starting as soon as I submit this review.

Certainly not BethanyAnn

An OK listen. I liked the concept but it just didn’t click for me. Maybe it was the narrator, nice voice but it put me to sleep.
