Publisher's Summary

How do we know what's true when there are so many differing voices telling us what to do? After traveling the world for 23 years in a rock band, John L. Cooper has noticed one consistent issue: People are desperately confused. If you want to know what's true, you must go to the source of all truth!

Awake & Alive to Truth tackles the reigning philosophies of our day of post-modernism, relativism, and the popular view of the goodness of man and combats these viewpoints by standing on the absolute truth of the word of God. Awake & Alive to Truth answers some of the most asked questions in modern culture. Go on a journey through some John Cooper's personal stories, the doctrine of original sin, the authority of Scripture, the danger of trusting your emotions, and end with the greatest news possible: God wants to rescue you from the chaos and the darkness and bring you into his glorious light.

About the author: John L. Cooper is the lead vocalist, bassist, and songwriter/producer for Skillet, one of the best-selling rock bands of at the 21st century. The two-time Grammy Award-nominated, 12-time platinum band was inducted to Pandora's Billionaire club after garnering two billion streams, took home a Billboard music award, and more. Their breakout single "Monster" remains one of the most-streamed rock songs of all time with 285 million global audio streams. John and his wife, Korey, have been touring together for the entirety of their 23 years of marriage and live in Kenosha, WI, with their two children. John and Korey are passionate about sharing the truth of Christ to the world through music, the Cooper Stuff Podcast, two Skillet graphic novels entitled Eden and Eden: The Aftermath, and now through his debut book, Awake & Alive to Truth.

A great book for this confused generation.

After growing up seeing Skillet perform when they first started to taking my kids to their concerts now, I have always been proud of how they continue to pour the gospel into their music and fans. Thank you John for standing for God when tempted to take the easy road. This book is needed to help so many people make sense of the confusion this current world is intentionally creating. A world with no bearing in truth can easily be manipulated into believing anything. I pray the ministry of Skillet and the Coopers continues to grow.

The Truth of a Modern Generation

Admittedly I purchased this book with the preconceived notion I would like it and I did. I hoped it would be a book I could point a younger generation to, who may have heard Jonh's music and might be predisposed to listening to his words. I didn't know what he would be writing but hoped it could be truth for a younger generation. It is surely that, and much better than I expected

Great and challenging book!

John is unapologetic in this approach to getting Christians back in track in their walk with God. This is also a straightedge for our Country to realize what freedom should look like.

Recommend to every new Christian.

I'm 29 years old. I'm reformed. And I live in Oklahoma City. I'm a recovering meth addict. I've been a Christian for 8 years. I've read a lot of theology books and I've read a lot of books in general and my Bible many many times.

And man... there has been a growing concern for people that have similar backgrounds as myself or are just the youth in general of America or anywhere else in the world. We are very misled by our feelings and by false teachings. THAT ARE EVERWHERE. And this book applies to the misguided youth.

Such a good tool for the youth just like you intended it to be I swear nobody will say this stuff anymore unless your a famous professor or theologian.

I will recommend this book to any new Christian especially the younger ones with MUCH EMPHASIS!
Thank you for writing a book that helps the younger people out.
