Publisher's Summary

Today I am going to share how to take your first big step toward becoming conversationally fluent in Spanish. All it takes is a few minutes of your time, every day, to speak and understand authentic conversational Spanish and build fluency - one lesson at a time.

Please remember this: None of the language programs you've been using are focused on fluency. Even the best language programs are pattern rich, but poor in vocabulary and memory. They're focused on making you feel good; you go away speaking a couple of sentences that you may entirely forget. I have a better system, a superior approach. It's called Automatic Fluency.

Using my Automatic Fluency programs does not guarantee fluency, but it does guarantee you the best fluency-building training in the industry. Yes, only my Automatic Fluency programs have the advantage of real fluency building with vocabulary rich and memory rich simplicity. They're all audio for maximum learning flexibility. All programs teach the same high frequency language that native speakers use, and all use my original spaced memory repetition, allowing you to use your own creativity while enhancing your language memory. Just as important, only my Automatic Fluency programs teach you enough high frequency vocabulary to truly build fluency and enough interval memory practice to really make it stick. My unique, proven fluency approach is built into each and every Automatic Fluency program.

Fluency-building features include:

  • High frequency language: allows you to communicate faster
  • Memory-enhancing retrieval techniques: lets you remember the words while you learn
  • Cutting edge original sentence creation techniques: speak your own mind in a comfortable way that is natural to you

Great Package - Program + Guide + Ebook

The program itself is more than worth the money. True. It's somewhat demanding, but if you really want to learn to speak Spanish with the natives, this is it. When you add the written audioscript and the great Ebook that come with this course, you have a 1,2,3 super winner. Lovin' it.

Challenging Me to the Max and Lovin' It

I'm scared and thrilled at what I'm learning with Automatic Fluency Latin American ..... for Conversation 2. It's like riding a fluency roller coaster. First I go up because I learned so much, then I go down because I still have so much to learn. Bottom line: I learned to speak more conversational Spanish with this course than I learned from 3 years of high school and 2 years of college Spanish, and I used several CD programs too. The difference? No B.S. This guy really EXPECTS you to learn, gives you the tools and says "Let's go". I'm going, and it's a heck of a ride.

Best Conversational Spanish Course I Ever Used

No question, not even a contest. This is the best conversational Spanish program I have ever used. It's enjoyable and it really motivates you to learn a massive amount of vocabulary and then helps you to assimilate it, remember it, understand it. At first I thought "Come on", like "Who can really teach fluency in a language". Like they say on the tapes, they don't guarantee fluency, they just help you build fluency. I agree that this program stands far above all others I have tried in making you fluent eventually.

BEST SPANISH AUDIOBOOK EVER

As I gloss through the bogus reviews about this great program, I am amazed at the inaccuracies. Let me set the record straight on what I consider to be the best Spanish audiobook series ever:

English is given for all Spanish always. This is standard for all Language Audiobooks and Automatic Fluency programs.
All speakers are trained and educated native Latin American Spanish speakers.
The conversations sound very natural and the vocabulary is very relevant and extremely high frequency.
A huge amount of vocabulary is presented and reviewed effectively for adequate memory retention. Spaced memory review is essential, and this program has it all.

45 minutes of 4 or 5 sentences repeated.

Save your money. This is the worst audiobook for Spanish I have ever used and I have finished 15 or so now so that is saying something about this one. Each chapter has a few and I do mean a few sentences that repeat for 1hour or more each so at the end of the book you will have learned almost nothing and there is so much filler in it a good part of the audiobook is transitioning parts or music breaks and ad's for their website.

Great Start and additional resource

Great material for the beginner to intermediate learner. Not a stand alone but a great supplement to learning Latin American Spanish. Lots of repetition but it gets progressively harder and faster. I wish the 2nd level had more material. Really hope there is an advanced version coming out.

Wasted time and money

The whole idea revolves around a small text and limited vocabulary repeated over and over in a boring way for four hours

Satisfactory

The voices are very robotic and computerized. Didn’t feel realistic. The content seemed good though.

Lvl 2 just as bad as Lvl 1 - Mindless Repetition

Story: The listener really doesn't learn much in the 4 hours it takes to complete this audiobook. As other listeners mentioned, there are only a few phrases / sentences that make up the entirety of this audiobook. Also, I noticed that audio clips in "Automatic Fluency Latin American Spanish for Conversation" are literally the same as those in his "Power Spanish I Accelerated" audiobook that was released in 2013 (4 years prior to Automatic Fluency). It seems that he simply took clips from his older material and tried to make it a new audiobook. Just like Level 1 in Automatic Fluency, Level 2 is full of mindless repetition.

Narration: I find it rather annoying that the narration says "You should have said" 82 times (I just opened the PDF, searched the phrase, and found 82 results). It's unnecessary filler, and really I just don't think it's a good phrase to say to someone when they're trying to learn a language. Also, for some reason, the narrators in both Level 1 and Level 2 would say simple words and phrases slowly and then suddenly introduce a new and much longer phrase, say the new phrase quickly, and not repeat the new phrase. I'm currently between A2-B1 in Spanish and have a decent ear, but even I had trouble understanding the narrators when they flew through the new phrases. I also don't understand why Mark Frobose and the narrators chose to do this. It's not like the narration said 'okay, now listen to native speed', it seemed completely random at first but then I noticed that it's just the longer phrases are sped up and the listener will have to rewind if they want to hear it again.

Overall: The Automatic Fluency Levels 1 and 2 are seriously lacking and I wouldn't recommend them for language learning. Sure, there are a few phrases, and I mean a few, that may be useful to learn from this audiobook series, but there are far better language learning audiobooks out there that can help teach us listeners much more. In my opinion, Paul Noble and Olly Richards provide some of the best language learning audiobook options.
