The present work is a excellent exploration of the life and spirituality of St. Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi, a Carmelite nun and mystic who lived in Florence, Italy (1566-1607). Beginning at a very young age, she initiated a series of religious practices and experienced her first ecstasy at the age of 12. She joined the Carmelite monastery of Santa Maria degil Angeli in Florence in 1583.
Her spirituality centers on mystical union with Christ through profound love, self-abandonment, and embracing suffering especially Christ’s Passion, viewing it as a path to deeper spiritual intimacy.
