Publisher's Summary

Years ago, he broke me.
Now he’s back with a proposition.
He needs a fake fiancée, and I’m the one he’s come to.

Audacious - that’s how I would describe him. He was my first love, my first kiss, and my first heartbreak, from which I never truly healed.

Kane was once the man of my dreams, on paper - strong, handsome, and a complete charmer. But the problem is, he has never given a damn about anyone but himself.

I’ve never witnessed a desperate man until Kane knocked on my door with literally the proposal of a lifetime.

I must admit, it’s ironic he’s come to me given the way things ended between us.

It’s possibly the worst idea ever, but I need the money. How do I not fall for Kane all over again and risk history repeating itself? Only time will tell.

Rarely give 1 star to a book

Hate books that portray women as door mats and seriously what was up with calling or texting her best friend for EVERY single decision and to report every minute little detail. Waste of time!!

Sweet

Short and sweet
A sweet second chance romance. Everyone goes through trials this books is like that and has that, “there is light at the end of the tunnel” feel to it. There are a few sad moments in her past but nothing with too much angst. A good light listen with a happy ever after.

not bad story

This was not a bad story. I've read the review before going into it. Some of the reviews stated that they didn't like the heroine character but liked the hero. I disagree because he was the playboy and he was the one who left her for another girl. Apparently, he was still a playboy. Why else he would proposition her to be his fake fiance? That said, both characters were okay. I didn't hate or love them. I did like her BF. She was funny and likable character. I loved the performance and i am familiar with both. highly recommend!

hero not believable

I listened to the audiobook and while I overall enjoyed it (narrated by Lance Greenfield and Michelle Ferguson), the story itself was a little unbelievable. This is a fake engagement story but the man, Kane, was totally not believable as someone for really wanted to change to become a better person for Jolene. This is also a second-chance romance and he hurt her a lot by breaking up with him and then, they didn't even resolve this issue. So overall, I thought that Jolene overcame their obstacles too quickly and Kane's redemption didn't feel authentic. That said, I had no trouble finishing the story and it was fun to see Adele and Chase again (although, what is it with Jolene not being able to do anything without asking Adele about it!?!)

Should be titled Spineless Stewardess

I have just over an hour left, and since you can already guess the plot twist, I’m just getting this review over now because this story is irritating me. But I’m committed and I’ll finish. I have not listened to a cocky hero selection yet that I didn’t like. This was an exception. Narrators were fine (although more Lance would have been preferable). What is the deal with the meddling best friend? This is a trend in romance that is the equivalent to nails on a chalkboard. Her Aussie accent was good, but she was in SO MUCH of the story that it was just irritating every time she came up. And this heroine was nice and pretty but apparently has no backbone and apparently can’t even take a piss without calling the aforementioned best friend. Not even going to get into the details of her lack of backbone without it being a storyline spoiler. I know this story will end with a HEA, but from the way this so called Hero speaks, if it were real life it would be a HFN, because his gaze will likely wander again. But then again, fake fiancé’s are really not a real life thing. But hey, romance novels. Mostly love to love them, but sometimes omfg really?!?!

Great story

You don’t need to read the first book but if you want to....
The first book that started the “Hero Club Series” Soraya and Graham’s story Is “Stuck-Up Suit” by ViKeeland and Penelope Ward it took me forever to figure it out.

easy listen

this was a good book. I like how Jolene and Adele were so close but it really bothered me that Adele's rape was consist with the original story but not being a addict. the drinking was a little much for me only because it was simply out of place. you can't have one aspect of a character without the other. but overall it was a cute story that had the potential to be great.

Overall great

A little different than my usual, but the overall story was great. It was slightly repetitive within the storyline.
The narration was strong, they were both good with accents.
I will be looking for more books/audiobooks by this author.

Cute fake relationship-second chance romance

This story is short and cute. Jolene runs into the ex who had unceremoniously dumped her in college...she still harbors lots of hate towards him. Then her current bf dumps her when she was expecting a proposal. Girl can’t catch a break...except she does, sort of. Kane needs to clean up his playboy lifestyle or he will lose his inheritance. The only woman that he can trust with a temporary relationship is the one that got away. Will this fake relationship reveal secrets that are too much to handle?
