How steamy is it? Hot Damn

Publisher's Summary

Kaitlyn Parker has no problem being the invisible girl, which is why she finds herself hiding in various cabinets and closets all over her college campus. Despite her best efforts, she can't escape the notice of Martin Sandeke - bad boy, jerkface bully, and the universe's hottest, wealthiest, and most unobtainable bachelor - who also happens to be Kaitlyn's chemistry lab partner.

Kaitlyn might be the only girl who isn't interested in exploiting Martin's stunning rower's build, chiseled features, and family's billionaire fortune. Kaitlyn wants Martin for his brain, specifically to tabulate findings of trace elements in surface water.

When Kaitlyn saves Martin from a nefarious plot, Martin uses the opportunity to push Kaitlyn out of her comfort zone: spring break, one week, house parties, bathing suits, and suntan lotion. Can she overcome her aversion to being noticed? Will he be able grow beyond his self-centered nature? Or, despite their obvious chemistry, will Martin be the one to drive Kaitlyn into the science cabinet of obscurity for good?

Contains mature themes.

Ardent Penny Reid Fan, but so mad re: cliffhanger

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Well... I love the Knitting in the City AND the Winston Bro's books, so I was a little disappointed in this book. The writing was somewhat immature, and seemed to be missing the Penny Reid sophisticated wit... BUT, what really, really bummed me out was the cliffhanger! I was sooo disappointed in Ms. Reid - cliffhangers are below her.

Would you recommend Attraction: Elements of Chemistry to your friends? Why or why not?

I would not, but only because of the cliffhanger.... you have to pay another $30+ to find out what happens. I won't do it because I am diametrically opposed to buying three books to get one story. I should have done my research before buying the first story, so that is on me!

What would have made this romance irresistible?

To finish the story.

Any additional comments?

Perhaps this was early work by Ms. Reid, as her other books are thorough and complete. I love series, not three books to finish one story.

NOTHING LIKE KEEPING YOU HANGING ON!!!

Nothing like keeping you hanging on for the next book. Once I got through all the weird/strange monologue and listened to the good parts of the story it ended abruptly. I hate it when books do that to you, at least it could have given you a little more of what next to expect. Plus why in every book you read when a girl finds a guy making out with another girl they walk away???? Why don't they confront them at the time??? Put them on the spot?? Just once I would love to read a story to see what the guy does and what excuse he makes up and to see how both girls react - the one he's cheating on and the one he is cheating with!
Anyway this is a good story regardless of the strange main girl of the book so I plan on purchasing the next book. I guess that's what they want you to do to make the money. But just saying.....it sucks!!!!

Funny and Smart

I love this story. It is funny and smart. Kaitlyn and Martin are so different and the chemistry of attraction definitely has to work hard to span their differences.
I grabbed both the ebook and audiobook but I love the narration on this book so much that I never even opened the ebook!
I think I forgot this book is part of a trilogy, but luckily I have book 2 waiting.

TERRIBLE ENDING

The story was well written, funny, great characters. Then it gets to the plot conflict and abruptly ends. Very disappointed.

Ends on a cliffhanger...

Ends on a cliffhanger but I loved it. The performance I had to get used to, however I think Cris Dukehart did a wonderful job.

YES!

oooookay.... I know this is a cliffhanger, and I'm sure the beginning of the next book is going to smooth everything out. But WOW! my anger is beyond imaginable at the ending of this book! That's not to be mistaken for anger for the story itself, but the characters involved. The feels, the feels, the feels!!!

Now that's out of the way, I can't express how much I love the heroine in this book! Absolute perfection! It's so rare to find a well written and interesting story that has such a unique yet "human" character. It's a breath of fresh air! I have became overwhelmingly annoyed with reading romances where the heroine is thin, pretty, wanted by all men and stupid. The heroine in this book however is a size 10, doesn't constantly complain about how insecure she is about her weight, is quirky, smart, has anxiety problems, and is logical. Yes! yes! yes! Thank you Penny Reid!

Part One, Cliffhanger... each book is a part

This book ended on a cliffhanger. In reading reviews, it appears book two ends on a cliffhanger as well. So, be prepared to listen to all three books. I listened to this as part of the Romance Package so I'm not spending my credits. The book was OK. The narration was good. I don't know that I can really form an opinion of the book since it really is only the first third of the story.

This is not a book. This is 1/3 of a book.

I enjoy Penny Reid's books, they're fun light fluff and sometimes live up to the "smart romance" style she claims. This book is okay, but it's not the whole book. It looks like a trilogy but it's really a longer book chopped into thirds. I know there's a contemporary theme of authors leaving cliffhangers near the end of a book - which is lazy - people should want to read your next book because it's good, not because you left them hanging. This one goes beyond and just stops. Weird.

BUT - Thanks to Audible's Romance package I can get these all in a row "without paying for them" even tho I pay for the membership. If you have this option still when you read this, it's the only way it's worth it. Otherwise you're wasting 3 credits on 1 book.

I like that the protagonist is a bit odd. She's got this overwhelming anxiety and hides in closet as a coping mechanism. Now why would an OMGHAWT and rich frat boy who rows crew be willing to give up all the ladies because - this might be a spoiler but you know it's coming - he's secretly in love with her?

I think this story needs more. But I can't keep typing on the subject because this isn't even half the book. More later.
