Publisher's summary

The drums of war thunder across the stars.... The final negotiations between the Silstrand Alliance and the Scipian Empire are complete, and it's time for Tanis and Sera to part ways.

Sera must return to Khardine, where new challenges await, and preprations for the march on Airtha begin. Meanwhile Tanis turns toward the Praesepe Cluster. There, a handfull of interstellar nations hold out against the encroaching Nietzschean Empire. Sera's Hand agents are certain that the Nietzscheans are backed by Orion, and Nadine is sent in ahead to connect with agents in Septhia before the I2 arrives.

Tanis and Bob have an additional goal. They want to learn more about the technology that Peter Rhoads used to control his fleet. Technology that had its origins in the former Genevian Alliance, and may still exist in a group of mercenaries known as the Marauders.

Enjoyed!

Felt I had no choice but to ingest this book as it was recommended by the author before continuing with "Rika's Marauders: The Complete Series", which is great by the way.
I'm glad I did! It certainly helped bridge the gap of knowledge presented in "Rika's Marauders:..." & it allowed a glimps into M.D. Cooper's entire Aeon 14 saga. Hard Science Fiction written with a solid understanding of physics, characters that draw you in, & a story line that keeps you guessing. Definitely worth the credits.

Staying consistent!

One of my favorite things about the Aeon 14 books is they've been staying consistent and progressing steadily thus far. Normally when i get this far into a series the author strays too far from what made me enjoy the books in the first place and i start to lose interest. These books however are staying true to the characters while also progressing them in power and knowledge as we near the finale. Things are getting a bit more complex and intricate as there are multiple spins offs and sub series that all overlap and converge into this storyline but i dont feel like they are NECESSARY to comprehend and enjoy this series but ive already listened to several and plan to listen to the rest as well because the books really are that good. But dont let it deter you or make you feel like you HAVE to listen to all the books or all the books in sequence in order to enjoy them because the way its put together this series has all the critical stuff in it and the others are seen from different perspectives and deal with samller issues. This series is definitely on the grandest scale of them all. Cant wait to see how everything turns out!

Gets Better with Every Book

This is true brilliance!! I really liked the first books, in the Intrepid Saga. Now, the follow on Orion War books are even better. True science fiction at its best!

Awesome story as always

Story is a seat grabber the whole way though. Upset about some of the old characters being killed off but look forward to to see where MD Cooper and his band of writers take us next.
Thanks as always for taking my imagination to new places.

Not my cup of tea

This seems to be a space odyssey that reads like a story born from the combination of “Real house wives” meet “sex in the city” but on a galactic scale. Since I did not like either show, this book was not for me. The Author also assumes the reader has full knowledge of the dozens of previous books and story offshoots
