best Goosebumps book finally in unabridged audio

I had the 1 hour abridged audiobook of Attack of the Mutant on cassette tape as a kid, and it was great but I always wished there was an unabridged version with all of the content from the book. And now it's here! Attack of the Mutant is (in my opinion) RL Stine's best work, a fun, comical, and suspenseful story about a comic book loving kid who comes face to face with his favorite supervillain! Don't miss this one, it may not be as spooky as some of of the other classic Goosebumps books, but it more than makes up for that in raw entertainment value. Performance was great, although not quite on par with the full voice cast of the original audiobook (which also had sound effects!) but it's complete, no word left forgotten on the page, and that alone makes it superior. Pick it up!

Out of the 20+ Goosebumps books I’ve listened to, this one is hands down my favorite. It hit home for me because I grew up obsessed with collecting comic books, and the character’s voice actually sounds like a kid, which makes it feel authentic. The story is packed with spot-on references to Todd McFarlane, Spawn, and early comics that perfectly capture the mid-90s era. Born in 1983, I was completely wrapped up in those exact comics during that time, so this book felt incredibly relatable and nostalgic.

Ending Had Me On Edge

This was one of the Goosebumps endings that made me wish there was a sequel book (from back then and even more now). There's also a nice way in which collecting in general is portrayed. I especially love how the descriptions were handled in this book.

How you ruin a great goosebumps book with a bad audiobook

I do not recommend, buying this audiobook because it’s a flat experience for such a great book. There was no love put into this. It’s all for money. if you wanna listen to this book, go look for or buy the abridged audiobook on a cassette tape released by Walt Disney records from 1996 instead of this boring 2025 release that scholastic rushed the production for money, and remember, this is just my opinion and I’m being honest nothing really against the creators of this audiobook. I just wish it wasn’t so bland and boring
