A Perfect Text for a Greater Understanding

This is a really good read and reference and worth the price. Wish I had it a long time ago. A whole lot of what you already know, but you'd be surprised at some of the many things you never even thought of. Have you ever looked for solid information on the H-R Diagram to understand stellar classifications more clearly and found that resources are always lacking? Ever wondered what exactly all those symbols, terms, and units mean, where they come from and how to apply them? Ever wonder how distances, masses, and temperatures of stars and gasses are actually calculated? This book will allow you to understand it all with a reasonable grasp of the subjects.

I am learning things about our solar system that I never knew. It has many illustrations. I find the author's style clean, crisp, and easy to read. I like the fact that I don't have to run to the dictionary to look up words I don't know that aren't related to the topic

I got this audiobook for my fiance who is in love with stars. this book goes over on great details about the stars galaxies and everything in the skies. The book is well explained for the novice, like myself, who has only the basic astronomy education of high school but wishes to go a bit further and deeper into the subject.
