Publisher's Summary

They say when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me. Kenton Mayson learned this lesson firsthand when he made assumptions about Autumn Freeman and the kind of woman she was based on what little information he had. What he finds out is that she's not only beautiful but also smart, funny, a fighter, and exactly the kind of woman he wants to share his life with. Autumn made assumptions of her own about Kenton, and now he needs to prove her wrong in order to protect her and their future.

Aurora wrote this in her sleep

Would you try another book from Aurora Rose Reynolds and/or Lidia Dornet and Sebastian York ?

Probably not Aurora, but Lidia and Sebastian are good if produced well.

If you’ve listened to books by Aurora Rose Reynolds before, how does this one compare?

I liked her books before, but this one did not measure up.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The editing was very poor and the performances were uninspired. Perhaps because the material was such drivel, they couldn't get it up?

Did Assumption inspire you to do anything?

Inspired to not buy a book just because I liked the others by the author. Fool me once!

Where's Sebastian York?

Maybe I'm foolish for purchasing this book based solely on the fact that Sebastian York is one of the narrators.
I made it through about 3 hours of this book and finally gave up. No more than a couple sentences from Sebastian York and the female narrator made a terrible breathy, dry lip smacking noise at the start of each sentence. Also, the story was painfully dull and the female character was so obnoxious that I wanted her to just go away. Finally gave up on this story less than 1/2 the way through.

Where is Sebastian York?

I loved the story, but was disappointed that Sebastian was hardly in the narration. I would like to review the series.

Great Listen!

I really enjoyed Kenton & Autumn's story. She was in danger, she was a stranger and he protected her...Who wouldn't love him! I enjoyed their banter and the sex scenes were hot. The author made the insta-love thing work somehow and I normally dislike all insta-love books. The narration was great too!

3.5 Assumption Stars

Well, I enjoyed this book. I am not a big fan of insta-love but I think this book was done in a way that it wasn't in your face.

I totally like that Kenton was a bit of a jerk, yep I said it. He was, possessive and manly and all-round alpha man. I love guys like him. But he also has this softer sweeter side that you can’t help but fall in love with.

Here is where my rating comes into play.
I liked Autumn very much actually, I like that she was her true self from the beginning of the book to the end. But I kind of felt like she was in her head too much, we do find out wayyyy later in the story why she was in her head so much. But why not ask a question?
I just kind of felt like she was this adult who seemed like she has a good head on her shoulders but she choose to not ask, and communication gets lots. I don’t know that to me is just immature?

Also “baby” as an endearment, it’s great h - e - l - l my hubby calls me that. But EVERY TIME he talks to her he calls her baby. It was just getting to be too much.

Wasn't really a fan of so much bad happening to or happened to just one character always kind of puts me off. I mean it does get balanced out but it just felt like one too many hits, for my liking at least.

I very much enjoyed the narration. I do wish we had gotten more SebYo though. ;)

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Not worth the credit

This is the first review I've done and I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks. First, the narrator was terrible. I usually get over a horrible narrator and become more interesting in the actual story. This did not happen. The story was flat and not engaging. Yes, I've read other books by this author and no they weren't the greatest but not horrible either. I'm sorry that this rating seems negative but I didn't find anything positive about this particular book.

Love Those Mason Men

Kenton Mayson is a cousin to the Until Masons, Asher, Trevor, Cash and Nico. You wouldn't need to read their stories first but I'm glad I did. There are events that overlap in these stories and it's fun to see things from two angles.
Kenton has been asked ( he's a bounty hunter, as well as other things) for a stripper from Vegas, Autumn. The title is based on the assumptions they make about each other. Like all the Mayson boys Kenton can only fight his attraction for so long, and encouraged by Nico ( in Nico's book you get to hear the conversation ) gives in and finds Autumn is his one. Kenton is tough but so loving and understanding to Autumn once he gives in to his feelings. Autumn needs protection after witnessing murders in Vegas and has had a horrible childhood, that situations come up throughout the story, spaced so it is always exciting and not over blown. Things move quickly. I really enjoyed this book and Aurora Rose Reynolds is a favorite author. There is steamy sex, but like the Until books it doesn't occur until there is an emotional connection, then it's hot.
Lydia Dornet gave a fantastic performance...varying voices, terrific inflection....she is wonderful Sebastian York is always incredible, what a voice. wish he was in it more, but the story is mostly Autumn's and towards then end when it was appropriate York was pivotal.
I will listen to this many times and enjoy the next in the series and every Until book!

****

Great story!!! The blurb does NOT do it justice. Perfect combo of badass heroine who can care for herself but also hugely benefits from a good guy at her back. I love a good heroine healing from a hard past story and this pleasantly surprised me with something along those lines. I actually read Distraction first; the blurb for this made me want to skip it but the bits and pieces of these characters stories from book 3 made me have to come back for book 1 (&book 2). Narrators were amazing. I loved both the male and female narrators but the way the female narrator captured the hero’s voice really was great. So often they do their own parts well but not the other gender but not in this case!! Definitely worth a credit if you’re not on AE and don’t let the blurb fool you there is a lot to this story. Also doesn’t hurt that the romance scenes are 👌🏼🔥
