Publisher's summary

What happens when you sneeze in space? Was it fun to do a space walk? How squashed were you in the capsule on the way back? What were your feelings as you looked down on Earth for the first time? Were you ever scared? Where to next - the moon, Mars, or beyond?

Based on his historic mission to the International Space Station, Ask an Astronaut is Tim Peake's guide to life in space and his answers to the thousands of questions he has been asked since his return to Earth. With explanations ranging from the mundane (how do you wash your clothes or go to the bathroom while in orbit?) to the profound (do humans have a duty to explore the unknown?), all written in Tim's characteristically warm style, Tim shares his thoughts on every aspect of space exploration.

From training for the mission to launch to his historic spacewalk to reentry, he reveals for listeners of all ages the cutting-edge science behind his groundbreaking experiments and the wonders of daily life onboard the International Space Station.

Amazing

Great answers to all those questions we always wanted to know about space life and the ISS. Really informative and well thought out.

Interesting read!

I found this book to be fascinating. If you're in the mood to learn lots of trivia and get a good dose of elementary-science, this is a quick and enjoyable read. Narration was great as well.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Most of this required small bites, but it was very enjoyable. My grandson and I enjoyed it, and he had his horizons widened considerably.

What a fun way to learn about space

Tim Peake’s Q&A about his life as an astronaut is full of fun facts that I would have never thought about. On top of being full of acts, this book is packed with both first and second hand stories only people who have stayed in space could tell. If you want space entertainment at the highest level then read this book.

Good Book

A collection of random facts and stories organized well and still manages to entertain. The author did an excellent job detailing his exploits in space in a fun educational way an it would interesting to see all astronauts do a similar style book.

wish I could rate higher

Engaging to listen to, and I learned new things even considering I'm an engineer with some experience studying space. He did a great job of being accessible to all levels of education while still engaging to those with significant STEM knowledge.

Entertaining & Educational

A fun book. I learned a lot about space travel, its impact on the human body, and why we should continue to send humans into space.

Good but a bit repetitive

I enjoyed the book. The narration was good. Some of the info (especially about SLS) is a bit dated, but is what it is, so no deduction for that. However he does repeat things sometimes in different chapters unnecessarily. Overall I would say it’s worth a credit.

Spectacular in every sense!

I was completely enthralled by this audiobook from the very first sentence to the last, in spite of my not having had a prior interest in space travel nor in learning about what astronauts go through. It's written in a very engaging style, and read superbly by the author himself. He reads in a very natural way, with emphasis throughout to help the listener truly understand the import of what he's describing. His voice is very pleasant to listen to and his British accent is remarkably easy on the American ear. I can't recommend this book highly enough! I have since purchased 4 copies of the printed book to gift to friends and family for the holidays. I feel as if I now have a much better perspective on planet earth and near space, and am more aware of the larger universe in which we exist. Thank you to Audible for promoting this book with a deep discount in one of their daily deals emails because otherwise I would never have taken an interest in this book. It is a real pleasure to listen to and well worth it!
