Love this time travel historical novel!

If you could sum up Ashes of Time in three words, what would they be?

Wicked good read!

What other book might you compare Ashes of Time to and why?

It's like others in the series - other books don't compare!

Which character – as performed by Laurel Schroeder – was your favorite?

Oooh, this is hard. David probably.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Back to the Future Meets the Princess Bride- lol

Any additional comments?

Obsessed by the series. Loved reading the books. But the audible version - wow!

Loved it

*I received a copy of this audiobook from the author for the purpose of an honest review*

As with the whole series so far, I loved this audio book.

This book in the After Cilmeri series is Meg and Anna's story after they are swept away in the stream of time, separated from David and Llewellyn and their families in Wales. Along the way they are reunited with Callum and Casie, on the run from the "bad guys" while David & Dad have trouble from bad guys of their own.

Laurel Schroeder's narration is excellent. I adore her ability to get the character voices just right for each one, and to keep them consistent from volume to volume. I could -and do- listen to her read for hours. Haha. I think she is perfect for this series.

The story is one that lends itself to the audio experience, alternating points of view are used sharing the telling between characters and each book sets up the unique angle presented, leading into a widening and deepening storyline. These are not just episodes of the same theme over and over. Read or listen, print or audio, or both. I just love this series.

Another fantastic book

This was a great story. I was happy to Callen and everyone come to the past and see what wonderful skills the new people have and what can now be accomplished. Ready to start the next in the series. Wonderful book.

Every one is masterful story telling. I highly recommend both this author and any narration by Laurel Schroeder.

No Place Like Home!

Would you consider the audio edition of Ashes of Time to be better than the print version?

This is the one installment of the series that I preferred the print version, likely because the modern day story is the more dominant story and it's easier to keep track of its timeline because it takes place in modern times and the places and things are largely familiar.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Although we don't spend much time with him, I have a warm spot for Cassie's grandfather, Art. He just seems so cool with everything, like the modern day counterpart to Llywelyn.

Which scene was your favorite?

The very first one...with the extended family all together before the events of the story unfold. While that may seem odd given all the excitement in not just this book but the series as a whole, this is the only time they are all in the same place at the same time and interacting as any normal family celebrating family milestones.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

"I prayed my whole life that such a fate would be mine." 'Nuff said.

Wonderful story.

As always I loved this book. The characters have more depth as their stories continue. Laurel Schroeder does a wonderful job giving voice to Sarah's stories.

Amazing book. Really enjoyed this story.

Narrator is best, love Laurel's voice and dialects. Anxious to start book 8 and find out how this all turns out.
