wow, what a great book. thank you for your great history. a great collection of real life in old Florida.

So glad Lance and Kim preserved their family memories.

As a multigenerational Florida Cracker myself, this book brought back so many wonderful memories. I don’t know the author, but I bet if we all dug around a bit we would have plenty of mutual folk. Heck, even now in Orlando for the Old Florida folk, it’s still a very small town.

Also, it is a wonderful calibration- i, too, grew up with what he calls “the Code” and the phrase, “as it should be.” That was the highest form of praise. Our childhoods sound quite similar for my father, brothers, my husband, and Lance, with being Eagle Scouts, Cessnas, Captiva, freedom with responsibility, fishing, boats, etc. Perhaps Kim should write her own book! :) the old ways need scribing.

If you grew up in Florida in the 1960s 1970s, and 1980’s, you may very well enjoy this well organized and written book… which is as it should be.

Connections

Overall a great story about old Florida. I loved all the different connections about made about old Florida and where we are today. It’s totally worth the listen.

I found this book to be very interesting and full of the very reasons Florida amongst other states are dying due to greed in politics.
