Publisher's summary

Lifeless and wrapped in plastic. This is how Sheryl Lee was first introduced as "Laura Palmer" in the cult television classic, Twin Peaks. Now, Sheryl returns to voice Laura's darkest secrets in the audiobook event that fans of the show have long awaited. Commissioned by series creators Mark Frost and David Lynch and written by Lynch's daughter, Jennifer - who was told she was one of "three air breathing mammals to know the identity of Laura's killer" - The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer became an integral part of the Twin Peaks canon.

The diary chronicles Laura's life from age 12 to her death at 17 and provides a harrowing backstory to the event that set the entire series in motion. In intimate diary entries, Laura goes from a happy and naïve tween to a tormented soul posing behind the phony smile of homecoming queen. Plagued by visions of a creepy man with long hair - a demonic presence she comes to know as "BOB" - Laura falls into a world of drug addiction, sexual promiscuity, and prostitution to escape. But as she's swallowed deeper and deeper into the abyss, Laura is forced to question the reality of who and what BOB really is.

With hidden Easter eggs, glimpses at the origins of principal characters, and clues to the identity of her eventual killer, The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer is required listening for diehard fans of the original show, and essential background for the 2017 revival.

Laura Palmer.

I have watched the first 2 seasons of twin peaks and didn't really know Laura Palmer. I think I still don't know Laura Palmer. But the book was interesting and I liked it.

Sheryl Lee back in her greatest role!

Twin Peaks fans rejoice! While Sheryl Lee obviously didn't record this as young as she was when she originally starred in this iconic role it's still a delight to hear he voice in the diaries. No one else could have pulled this off. If you're a Twin Peaks fan then this is a must read. If not, then move along, it really is meant solely for Peakers. #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes

Traumatizing, surreal listening experience

Sheryl Lee should've won awards for her performance with this audiobook. We finally get to hear Laura Palmer's thoughts in this absolutely bone chilling diary. The traumatizing imagery and Sheryl's BOB impressions are hands-down one of the creepiest things I've ever heard. I would HIGHLY recommend this audiobook to any Twins Peaks fan!

Gripping, Emotional, Captivating!

I am an avid Twin Peaks fan, and this was everything I needed!! The book was gut-wrenching and raw as Sheryl Lee takes you through Laura's diary piece by piece. It filled in a lot of gaps from the show, and it gives even more depth to Laura's complex and mysterious character. It's a must-listen for any Twin Peaks fans out there.

50 Shades Of Bob

A young Jennifer Lynch takes you on a dark sad journey. Sheryl Lee reprises her role as Laura Palmer perfectly.

Hooked Newbie

I am probably very close to the age Laura Palmer was and would be today if she had made different choices. I got married very young, though, and was too busy to watch the new sensational show Twin Peaks. This is the first I've read or seen about the show. Now I need to go back and watch the whole thing and watch the movie and then listen to this again! I'm sure I'll get much more out of it then I did this first time.

This was a really well done narration by Sheryl Lee. Yes, there is whispering which is hard to hear if you're commuting in a car (when I mostly listen to audiobooks) but her performance outshines any small defects. Her voice, tone, inflection and cadence are all spot on for the material. Her voice goes from a seemingly happy 12 year old who gets the best gift in the world for her birthday to a strung out prostitute whose life is coming unraveled. And then there's Bob. Her voice for Bob is incredibly creepy and she goes back and forth quickly and seamlessly as Bob and Laura have their conversations.

Can't wait to find out more.
