In this new version, Jane Bussmann not so much reads as brilliantly performs her supreme comic history of British youth culture, acid house, and nightclubbing. A book so wonderful, it featured in Jeremy Deller’s winning submission to the Turner Prize. A Muzik Awards Book of the Year.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Especially if they were interested in learning about the early days of rave culture in the UK.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
My tip for listening to this audiobook is to play it at 0.75 speed. Jane Bussmann has a lot to say, unfortunately she speaks so fast, it's impossible to take it all in.
Any additional comments?
Quite funny at times. I loved hearing the stories of what it was like in the early days. Would recommend.
