I, Elizabeth Hawes, have sold, stolen, and designed clothes in Paris. I have reported on Paris fashions for newspapers and magazines and department stores., and I've worked with American buyers in Europe.
What audible isn't telling you is that this was written in 1938- not 2015.
Elizabeth Hawes was an American designer who writes about the fashion industry of the 1920s and 1930s. She would turn over in her grave if she saw the awful cover that has been put on the 2015 reprint. The cover is very misleading.
I personally enjoyed the content because I am familiar with the subject - but struggled to get through the audio book. It is so poorly read, with endless mispronunciations. awkward pauses and misleading or random inflections that I can only conclude that it is actually read by a computer program - it seems impossible that an actual Hunan could read a book this badly.
