Story
When Star Wars burst on to the big screen in 1977, an unfailingly polite golden droid called C-3PO captured imaginations around the globe. But C-3PO wasn’t an amazing display of animatronics with a unique and unforgettable voice-over. Inside the metal costume was an actor named Anthony Daniels. In this deeply personal memoir, Anthony Daniels recounts his experiences of the epic cinematic adventure that has influenced pop culture for more than 40 years. For the very first time, he candidly describes his most intimate memories as the only actor to appear in every Star Wars film.

Editorial reviews
When Gene Wilder's friend Letty Cottin Pogrebin worried that Wilder's bashfulness would affect their 2007 interview at the 92nd Street Y, the actor and writer responded, "At dinner parties I'm shy. In front of a thousand people I'm fine". Wilder appeared in such movies as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Producers, and Blazing Saddles, but in this discussion he professes that he much prefers to write these days. His memoir Kiss Me Like a Stranger: My Search for Love and Art was followed by two novels and a collection of short stories, hence, though Wilder decided to be an actor at the age of 11, he has essentially turned to literary expression.

Story
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

To this day, the LAPD, Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, mainstream media, and much of the world at large remain firmly convinced that O. J. Simpson literally got away with murder. According to private investigator William Dear, it is precisely this assuredness that has led both the police and public to overlook a far more likely suspect. Dear now compiles more than 16 years of investigation by his team of forensic experts and presents evidence that O. J. was not the killer.

As with most 92Y interviews, this one let us in on much of Gene Wilder's life story. It was enjoyable to listen to. He seems like a great person. I so love his movies, and it is good to know he is genuine in real life.
