Publisher's Summary

Talia could scarcely believe that she had finally earned the rank of full Herald. Though this seemed like the fulfillment of all her dreams, it also meant she would face trials far greater than those she had previously survived.

For now, Talia must ride forth to patrol the kingdom of Valdemar, dispensing Herald's justice throughout the land.

But in this realm beset by dangerous unrest, enforcing her rulings will require all the courage and skill Talia could command - for if she misuses her own special powers, both she and Valdemar will pay the price.

Best audiobook narrator!

The book is a classic and second in a series. I absolutely LOVE this narrator. She brings new life to much loved and familiar characters.

Again a Fantastic Story and Performance

As I have said before, Mercedes Lackey's telling of Talia's story was always fantastic, from the first time I read it in the late eighties. But Christa's reading brings the story alive in such a way, I am enjoying her story all over again. Her version of the character Conversations reflect all the emotions of the character, from Talia's depressing self doubt to her sheer joy and playfulness. Each Character has a voice and Christa does and excellent job of maintaining continuity of the voices.

I will tell you now, the worse part of this book is knowing we have to wait for the last part of Talia's story. but when it comes, I am sure I will be as pleased with Arrows Fall, as I am with Arrows of the Queen and Arrow's Flight.

Struggle for book two

The reading of this story was wonderful! And, the consistency in that regard between book one and book two was perfect! However, I was disappointed that this book undid part of the completion from the. first book in the series, instead of continuing the plot forward after her training. it reused the problems from book one instead of giving or heroin a new focus. Once I was able to set this frustration aside I could enjoy the book, and the ending was triumphant and good, but I hope that the next book in the series can take our trained character now and build on what has already been laid, instead of again repeating the same problems and struggles that we have seen completely conquered twice already. I am sure there is more to deal with in her world than her own struggle to control her gift and to live with her low self esteem.

good second book

Having read the first book I was excited to read the second. Some parts were long-winded with excessive details, and I got frustrated over the inability of the characters to learn from their experiences. The pace picked up at the end of the book, and the narrator did a great job reading and speaking for the characters

Well worth the credit

I read these books many years ago and was delighted when the arrows of the queen trilogy became available. I loved the narrator 's accent for Talia.

Updated performance - well done!

Loved this. I own the first recordings of this fine tale and Christa does an amazing job with accents, phrasing and bringing the characters to life in such a vivid way.

The story of Talia and her journey are the best place to start your reading of the Valdemar books. Listen to these, and hear a genre come to life!
