Great first performance, but annoying last two.

For $4, I can't really complain, but the narrators in the second two books distractingly mispronounce countless words. The narrator for Around the World in 80 Days was great and very enjoyable, but I'd suggest getting other audiobooks for the other two, Mysterious Island and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Poor narration

Very much a bargain basement selection. Wonderful stories, ruined by terrible performances. poor pronunciation, and poor recording.

Great books, bad narrators

I love the books. It's a great collection. The readers, however sound like robots reading the newspaper!

All good until you get to the last book.

It is a grand journey until you arrive at the last book: Journey to the Center of the Earth. The audio is atrocious. It sounds like it was recorded on a pair of headphones with a microphone. Such a shame to ruin a great story with poor production.

I want so badly to complete this book...

I have wanted to read this series of books for some time. I completed my listening of Around The World In 80 Days and the Mysterious Island. as I started to listen to 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, I simply can not bare the voice. I wish that I could.

2 where great 1 not so much

Around the world in 80 days and The Mysterious island where great to listen to. Like a lot of other comments the voice for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was HORRIBLE.

great listen

the "Mysterious Island" was absolutely fantastic. "Around the World in 80 Days" was just as I expected. not mind blowing but not bad. "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" was brilliant but I was a little bored at times because of too much detail. when action takes place it is a mental image to behold

A good collection but out of order

The three books were great but the order was wrong 20000 leagues would have been better to come before mysterious island. to explain would give it away but when you listen it will make total sense.

Poor naration

I did not enjoy this book at all as the narration on all three stories was abysmal. Apart from the fact that this was read by our american cousins who think buoy is pronounced ' booee' not ' boy'and quay is pronounced 'kway' not 'key' the reading was poor will little effort being put in to empasise key moments. The last section was bypassed as the lady narrator made me feel off colour ( not color) with her terrible reading style. Not impressed....at all. Sad as Jules Verne wrote some good stories.

Brilliant books but editing and casting let down

The positives... Around the world had me captivated. Great narrative and well acted made it very enjoyable.
Mysterious Island was again a great story and very well read. Sadly the editing should have placed this book after 20000 leagues.
However had I heard the nauseating and grating voice of the narrator reading 20000 leagues before listening to mysterious island I would have stopped listening to the whole series. Also it sounds like she recorded the first chapter whilst sat under a tin bath!
I have paid for a new 20000 leagues with a different narrator. With respect the pronunciation that some American actors use to murder the English language can utterly destroy an audio book. The stories are great just let down by audio.
