great book, mediocre reader

i enjoyed the book very much, but the reading was unpolished and awkward. i would suggest reading the book before your attempt at recording it.

What A Treat

Very good story telling. A journey indeed. Very lively rendition. Get your passport and carpetbag ready.

Jules Verne's best!

If you like adventure books, you will love this one. In my opinion, this is by far the best book Jules Verne ever wrote. You will LOVE the twist at the end!

Atrocious narration.

Great story. Terrible narration. He sounds like a one-lunged marathoner. It was very annoying to listen to.

The worst

This is one of my favorite books. Sadly, this narrator destroyed it. From the horrible timing, to the misprounciation of Passepartout, I found it impossible to listen to. Unfortunately, I'm finding more and more books that are poorly engineered, poorly read, and poorly edited. It feels like these performers walk into the booth and start recording without ever having read the book.

The unique traits of the characters.

I like how well the story was planned and in the end you thought all was lost when in reality it wasn't.

Wonderful story! But... commas!!!

The story is a classic for all the right reasons, and should be on all reading lists. Alan Munro does good service in voice tone and character voices, but his ad-hoc insertion and/or ignorance of comma pauses is a sad distraction.

a great and sensible story

A delightful take wherein everything that could go wrong does not go wrong. a reasonable level of action without being over the top. highly recommended
