Earth is a fiery pile of rubble. But Dasks' race can sense deception and lies - he can smell fear. Amy is keeping a secret from him. When a Castian mates, he mates for life. If Amy dies, so will Dasks. Dasks must decide if he can live without her - because if they mate he will surely die with her.

The story is great. Narration needs help.

This story is wonderful. I have read it three times at least. Every time I cry. The story is very sad as the characters work through the issues. The narrator does not bring this across. He talks about the main characters breast cancer and impending death due to it as he would talk about a nice walk in the park with the sun shining down. He was the wrong narrator for this series of books. I can only hope the author reads this. Pleas consider having these redone. This narrator can not bring sorrow or any other emotion across. I would have loved to purchase these books on audio. I checked for some time to see if they put them on audio. I am sorry to say I will not be buying them. This narrator is not good. I was able to listen since they were part of audible escape.

400 year old virgin anyone?

It is not amusing to see that the Earth is being destroyed by earthquakes,tsunamis and meteorites. What is amusing is that the women who are kidnapped or lost on U NO the new planet are being fought over by 400 year old virgin armored men who have no clue what women are. Of course as it triggers their ancient memories and with a little prompting from the women who are happy to escape death on Earth you get a HEA out of an alien abduction book. Good points - they are totally in tune with your emotions. Amy was dying of breast cancer and when she and 7 other women and 3 children are "rescued" and a new adventure begins for them all.

OK Story, Superficial

The story was OK but don't expect to get deep into why this or why that. Things are very superficial - one short sentence to state a fact that left me scratching my head saying huh? This was the best of the series though by adding the whole Amy is dying of breast cancer angle. That did generate some genuine emotion but the rest was kind of just OK, not bad but not great. Again, this narrator makes me cringe - way over the top accents and dramatics but only for certain characters.

Just get suck it up.

So.... I do not know what to feel about this book. Amy is okay and Dasks is okay as well. Amy annoyed me to no end. I understand why she felt the way she did however I just needed her to be honest in the beginning and just accepted the fact that her and Dasks were mates. I think a lot of the back and forth would have ended if it was not for her. I did not hare the book bu there is just something about it that was completely and utterly aggravating about.

Dasks ❤ Amy

This is book #2 of #9 in the New World Series. Set in a post-apocalyptic future. Earth has become, for the most part, uninhabitable. Some people were able to escape to various fates in the universe. Once humans, females in particular, come into contact with the Castian Warriors, the fate of humanity takes on a whole new road-map. Castians are a human like species that have a hard outer armor that auto deploys to protect them. It is practically unbreakable and makes them look like a moving rock monster with fangs and claws. They also have been without females for over 400 years with most never have seen a female anything since age of 4, and that memory is usually of their mothers. The hows and whys of that you will have to discover on your own, but it was not caused by a natural thing. Now that females have been discovered, it becomes a mad dash to save any others that might still be on earth, which there are. Good for them too because they would of eventually starved at best with all that is left on the planet. This series follows their plight to save not only earthlings but their species as well. Each story focuses on the main two characters, but often with a bonus. There is usually a secondary couple which is that of the alien’s warrior mate. These are usually chosen around age 12, and are their fighting buddy that always watches the other’s back. Since they are always together, it makes since that a mate would be selected at the same time, so the other couple’s fate is usually playing out at the same time, but just not as in much detail. Armor is mainly the story of Dasks and Amy, with a side story of Talsk and Meg, plus a bonus for Cobra. A large group of human females are rescued, including a male child. It was a hoot to listen to Cobra, huge big bad leader, get a verbal smack down from a little bitty woman. New details are learned about the aliens and their enemies, as well as new discoveries made. I love how this series is progressing. C.L. Scholey continues to impress as the world building expands. I learn fresh things, while still being intrigued to want a lot more. Matthew Lloyd Davies continues a solid performance that pulls me into the story like watching a movie in my mind. I listened to this through Audible Escape.

The ending will have you saying Wha Wha what!

The ending killed the book for me. All resolutions happen in less than a few pages. There was filler that could have been removed to enhance how the story ended. To put it in perspective, Hallmark Movie endings have more meat.

The other thing that bothered me is when a Mated Castian Male offered to impregnate a non-mated female. Castians mate for life which makes this a huge issue!

Hopefully the third book will be significantly better.

Main character sucks

The woman Amy is so annoying and snobby. And the guy who likes her is sooo “innocent”. Story simply didn’t fly.
