Publisher's summary

Book One - Fortress Britain: When the Zombie Apocalypse came, one country had shut down its borders in response to a major terrorist attack. Now Fortress Britain is the last bastion of the living - with 50 million beleaguered survivors facing down a world of seven billion animated corpses. And one international team of elite special operators - supremely trained and armed, always the most skilled, resolved, and unstoppable amongst us - are humanity's last best hope for survival....

Book Two - Mogadishu of the Dead: Alpha team is tasked with one last desperate operation: They must cross the Atlantic aboard the world's only remaining supercarrier and insert by air into the very middle of a dead continent, all in search of a rumored vaccine that might bring humanity back from the brink. But their op goes dangerously wrong from the start, with the team scattered to hell and back, and their target site a dry hole. Now they must fight their way on foot through a city of three million ravening dead guys, in search of an underground bunker that might hold the Last Man on Earth. But these undead will not be like any Zulus they have ever fought before - and they surround the new target in a writhing ring of death 30 feet high on all sides....

Book Three - Three Parts Dead: Alpha team, the world's best and last surviving Tier-1 operators, are adrift on Lake Michigan - and fast drifting into what looks like a damned hostile shoreline. Deep in the National Forest nearby, a former police officer and survivalist battles to keep her family alive - and tries to decide whether the commandos of Alpha are more dangerous to her alive or dead. Meanwhile, the John F. Kennedy, the world's last floating supercarrier, is run aground off the coast of Virginia - and facing a veritable hurricane of the dead, blowing in fast. Finally, back in Fortress Britain, the terrible outbreak from the Channel Tunnel turns out not to have been so contained after all.

nonstop action from the moment you start listenin

This review refers to the first three volumes of the Arisen Omnibus series, (books 1-3).

The world has been overrun by zombies, the only exception is the large island of Great Britain, or now called Fortress Britain. This was a fortunate accident of timing; a foiled terrorist attack caused Great Britain to close its borders to air traffic at exactly the time when the zombie virus was spreading. There were and are pockets of infection, but awareness and warning allowed the British to move quickly to protect themselves, even going so far as to destroy the Chunnel (the tunnel linking England to France). As far as anyone knows, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas are completely overrun by the walking dead.

If they were just lumbering flesh eating zombies, protection wouldn’t be so difficult. But there are several different kinds; the first is the standard slow flesh eating zombie, referred to as Zulus in military parlance, and a quicker version called runners or Romeos; and now the recently emerging strain that are lightning quick, with no other goal but to infect the living. This new one is called Tango Foxtrot November, or “The F**king Nightmare.”

Arisen Omnibus is nonstop action. From the moment you start listening, zombie brain-stems are being pulverized by bullets, grenades, hatchets, clubs and swords. The story mostly follows the military elite group called Alpha Team, who are masterful at all things staying alive. They are perfect soldiers, brave, loyal, dedicated and lucky. Perhaps they are too perfect, but hey, they’re killing dead people who walk and eat flesh; you’d better have heroes up to the task.

The audiobook is performed by R.C. Bray, who gives a flawless performance. His deep resonant baritone vibrates in your ear giving just the right energy at just the right time. The accents and characters are easily discerned and sound right for each. You may want to listen to other books performed by Bray just to hear his performance.

If you enjoy military and/or zombie stories, Arisen Omnibus is a must listen. It is exciting, inventive, suspenseful and just plain gory fun. You will definitely look forward to the next installment of the Arisen Omnibus series.

Fantastic Series with great narration!!!

R.C. Bray is the best narrator I've heard in a very long time. Great voice range and his voice is perfect for zombie epics like this series is.So far I have enjoyed every book I've heard him narrate and I would definitely recommend this book series to any zombie fantasy fans.

Quickly forgettable

I would say the story was good, had it not been for the overall pacing. R.C. Bray once again knocks it out of the park with his performance, but the author seems to have had a difficult time rounding out the end of Book 3 by the publisher's deadline. As a result, it's fun while it lasts, and is sometimes interesting, but due to several events that were not only unlikely, but also nonsensical, the story is quickly and easily forgettable.

Engaging story, but with the next credit?

Great story and characters, leaving me wanting more. R. C. Bray is amazing as always, sometimes I pick books on what he narrates. The first 3 books were a combo for a credit which is reasonable. The follow on book is 8 hours and I speculate the following are around the same length of time. I feel like I am buying chapters in a large novel. I will wait until there is a combo or the full novel is complete.

Can't stop listening!

By far the best zombie apocalypse series I've read...non stop action, characters are well defined and their lives part of the story. Very few parts are predictable or not believable which makes the story feel real and it draws you in. Highly recommend
