Publisher's summary
Aries Jones is a soldier who is still trying to recover from his losses after returning from fighting in the war for freedom in Afghanistan.
The nightmares came every night. They were mostly of the same thing: me watching my friends blow up from an IUD, and the face of the girl I’d seen holding the device, change to my wife, Faith, as she was run over by a small sports car.
I woke up and either turned on music or waited for the signs that Faith left me. Feather’s, a favorite song of ours.
If my old high school buddy hadn’t tracked me down and asked me to work on some construction projects for him, I would have given up and buried myself in a bottle.
Then I met, Brenna Faith Douglas. There was something about her mischievous smile and husky voice that made me feel as if I was cheating on my wife. But Faith was dead, and Brenna, was very much alive.
I worked hard to support my little sister and me after my mother abandoned us and took off with the bikers who she’d always kept around. She’d done me a favor when she left. I no longer had to lock myself up in the bedroom with my sissy and hope they wouldn’t break the door down to get to us.
I had a good job, and I made enough there to keep us fed. Then I learned that the restaurant I worked at may have to close its doors, and my hours would be cut.
Then I met Aries Jones. He was the contractor who would be doing the renovations.
There was something about that man’s eyes that haunted me, but he made me feel safe – safer than I’d ever felt before.
Aries Jones is the third book in The Never Forget Series. This book is the perfect story for you if you’re a fan of Staci Stallings, and this story is similar to her book, A Work In Progress.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

A heartwarming romance I will "never forget"!
Wow! I just finished listening to this and I still have goosebumps. I have to admit I was skeptical going in, unsure about the "military" category and I'm glad it didn't sway me. The narration drew me in almost immediately and before I knew it I was charmed by Aries, Brenna, and most of all Jojo. They are all brought to life so well I felt like they were old friends telling us their story firsthand.
Underneath Aries' tough exterior is a sweet and tender story of redemption, a little action, and yes, romance. It reminded me a lot of a Hallmark holiday movie, a guilty pleasure :), with just a bit of an edge to it, so this was right up my alley. I look forward to hearing more from this author and this storyteller again. 10 Stars!!!!

Everyone wants a man like Aries Jones in their lives!
While this book may be fiction, every woman (and probably some men, too) want a man like Aries Jones in their lives. While Aries Jones has weaknesses (come-on...he’s only human!) his intense need to love and protect those important to him outweighs any (minor) flaws he may have and makes him really come to life in an empathetic and three-dimensional way.
Aries Jones has an intense past. But, by learning to accept the help around him, he is able to overcome and become confident in the man he is becoming. Brenna Faith Douglas wants to be loved, but due to overwhelming trauma from her past, is defensive and at times aloof. Fate brings these two very mismatched (but strangely alike) people together in numerous ways, allowing them to form a bond that only grows stronger as they get to know each other better.
I would absolutely recommend this book. It’s gripping and hard to put down. So hard, in fact, that I listened to the whole book (7+ hours) in one day! Take the chance and listen to this book. You won’t be sorry.
