Publisher's summary

It happens to all of us: You're minding your own business, when some idiot informs you that guns are evil, the Prius will save the planet, or the rich have to finally start paying their fair share of taxes.

Just go away! you think to yourself -- but they only become more obnoxious. Your heart rate quickens. You start to sweat. You can't get away. Your only hope is this book.

Glenn Beck, author of the number-one New York Times best sellers An Inconvenient Book and Glenn Beck's Common Sense, has stumbled upon the secret formula to winning arguments against people with big mouths but small minds: knowing the facts. And this book is full of them.

The next time your idiot friends tell you how gun control prevents gun violence, you'll tell them all about England's handgun ban. When they tell you that we should copy the UK's health care system, you'll recount the horrifying facts you heard here. And the next time an idiot tells you that vegetable prices will skyrocket without illegal workers, you'll stop saying "No, they won't" and you'll start saying, "actually, eliminating all illegal labor will cause us to spend just $8 a year more on produce."

Idiots can't be identified through voting records, they can be found only by looking for people who hide behind stereotypes, embrace partisanship, and believe that bumper-sticker slogans are a substitute for common sense. If you know someone who fits the bill, then Arguing with Idiots will help you silence them once and for all with the ultimate weapon: the truth.

Bofo Becko!

Love him or hate him, agree or disagree -- One thing you have to admit, Beck is entertaining, to the max. This was an absolutely GREAT listen! I liked it so much I may even buy the book so I can savor it in written form. I especially recommend this book to those of progressive proclivity. It will drive them nuts! BWAHAAAA!

entertaining

Short rants on a variety of topics, with a conservative slant. You won't agree with him on all of them, but you'll love those that you do agree with.

Informative with just the right amount of humor!

Glen did a wonderful job of clearly addressing each subject and backing up his opinions with hard facts. As always I enjoyed his brand of humor that kept the book from becoming dry and boring.

Good facts...average humor

Full of good facts, quotes, and ideas. But, Beck does make a good idiot...so, all in all, a good listen.

what todays news leaves out

Would you listen to Arguing with Idiots again? Why?

Well i generally absorb most what was read in this book but the chapter on presidents would be something i would revisit again

What did you like best about this story?

Facts, not too much opinion

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His ADD moments are quite amusing

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, whom i thought was the model republican, and he just isnt.

Any additional comments?

Only that Glen should narrate his books himself (Pat and Stu are not bad either), more people would be incline to buy his other books.

Very educational and filled with facts

WOW! This book is great. I get very angry if a book is all about the left or right point of view. I like when the Author uses facts, humor and common sense. He keeps it interesting throughout the whole book. He makes the facts easy to understand and interesting.

Stupendously Brilliant!

The brilliance of Arguing with Idiots is that Glenn takes the entire liberal narrative and deconstructs it piece by piece until at the end all you have is a bunch of mumbo jumbo feel good-ism.

I guess what I like most about this book is that if you pay attention to it, what Glenn is really doing is teaching you how to take a liberal's arguments and turn it against them.

Oh and one more thing...It doesn't hurt that this title is amazingly funny!

A very good book that argues w/ facts not politics

Glenn Beck has a lot of "ADD moments" in this audible book, however, those moments are what make the audible book more fun to listen to. There is a lot of interesting facts and laws in this book on reasons how and why the government took control of organizations in America that one would think should remain private. Most of the facts point to reasons why America may be better off without government involvement as well. Whether or not one agrees with Glenn Beck, the facts and laws cannot not be disputed... even to an idiot.

Worthwhile

Entertaining, since of the arguments might not have been balanced, though. Overall, a good read (listen)
