Publisher's summary

Midnight and dawn, Elena's wings are unique among angelkind - and now they are failing. The first mortal to be turned into an immortal in angelic memory, she's regressing. Becoming more and more human. Easier to hurt. Easier to kill.

Elena and Raphael must unearth the reason for the regression before Elena falls out of the sky. Yet even as they fight a furious battle for Elena's very survival, violent forces are gathering across the world. In China, the Archangel Favashi is showing the first signs of madness. In New York, a mysterious sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man whole. In Africa, torrential monsoon rains flood rolling deserts. And in Elena's mind, whispers a haunting voice that isn't her own.

This time, survival may not be possible...not even for the consort of an archangel.

Contains mature themes.

Emotional rollercoaster, Loved it.

Fast paced, intense emotions. Yes a cliffhanger but well worth the read and really looking forward to the next book. Nalini never fails to deliver and exceptional story. Lots of appearances of previous characters along with new ones. No author can please everyone, but I really loved it.

Really good addition to the series :)

4-4.5 stars

This was a really good addition to the series. This story circles around Raphael and Elena and what's happening due to the "Cascade". Elena's immortal status seems to be shifting and no one seems to know what is causing her issues. While she's dealing with that, Elena is investigating an attempted murder of her brother-in-law that could mean danger for her sister and niece. And Raphael is kept busy with "Cascade" issues and a possible attack.

This addition to the series is very good but Elena doesn't know what's happening to her and we kind of have to ride that wave of issues with her and worry about how it will turn out. The story is really good but while I liked it and enjoyed the moments of levity and such, there is a certain level of constant stress brought on by the ongoing issues Elena is experiencing. The story does end with a partial cliffhanger...we get the answer to the most important question but are left wondering about most everything else. Regardless, if you read this series you will definitely want to read this. I do love Raphael and Elena as a couple and I don't like having to see them go through crap but things do seem hopeful for the future. :)

Not her best but still a wonderful addition

Ok yes the book ends in a cliffhanger so warning for anyone who can't handle that.
This book may not be the best in the guild hunter series, but it's still a guild hunter book. By that I mean there are lots a small things that are added to the lore and a tone of hints as to what may be coming soon, this book also ties in some things we learned before back into the story in a satisfying way.

I also have to warn that this book isn't a happy ride, it's a rollercoaster of worry and fear, but that isn't always a bad thing, but I can tell why that wouldn't appeal with a cliffhanger, so if that would be a problem wait until the next book about Elena and Raphael so that you can read them back to back or rather listen to them back to back.

Cliffhanger Not My Favorite

I am a huge fan of Ms Singh however I am not a fan of the cliffhanger. All of her Guild Hunter books in the past left me with a end to that book, not so in AP. There is a annoying feeling of being emotionally manipulated by the authors failure to give me closer to AP. This and the fact that the very beginning and ending pages are really well structured is why I say read this book. I love the continuation of the Archangel world. Ms Singh please don’t stop writing but no more cliffhangers.

Disappointing! 😰

This book left too many questions. Ending was just a setup for next book. Sad.

Ahhrrgg !

The end of this book ruined it. We go through a drawn out slayer story only to get to the end and not find out what happens to Elena ! Very unsatisfying .
