Publisher's Summary

Archangel Squadron faces off against the forces of the brutal Protectorate to claim a prize, and save humanity, in a gripping novel of deep space jeopardy by the author of the Odyssey One series.

At the helm of a commandeered freighter, Captain Steph Michaels has infiltrated the Free Star systems. Leading a captive crew, and posing as a privateer, he's on a mission to seize a precious resource from an enemy outpost. Backed by his Archangel Squadron, it's a smash-and-grab operation he can pull off in his sleep. Until it isn't.

Before he and his "pirates" can strike, they're met with an unexpected obstacle. The mining compound they're targeting also houses camps of slave laboring families. It's an innocent population Steph refuses to sacrifice as collateral damage, and his morality will drive him to greater extremes than ever before. With a ruthless enemy commander facing them down, Steph will find himself in conflict with not just the Free Stars but potentially with the Empire itself.

The odds of victory? Impossible to foretell.

Narrator

The different narrator (from the Odyssey One series) changed the accents or the Primenea and the way some names were pronounced. primarily Milla was not said "Mia".

Well # 2 (Rising) was exhilarating.

I’m glad that I reread “Archangel One” that way it worked as one big book.
This one is a full scale 10 ticket ride. With a “Princess Bride” reference tossed in just at the right spot. A real rollercoaster of a story. Jumping from the Archangels to Odysseus seamlessly and each story/timeline works. Each ending is fantastic can’t wait 4 #3

Consistency

When the reader for an audiobook series changes, it should be required that the reader go back and listen to the previous books and pronounce character names the same way they were in the first and subsequent books in the series. It is obvious that this did not happen here. In fairness, I must point out that this is not the only series I have listened to with the same problem.

SLIGHTLY better narration, still disappointed!

Disappointed that the narrator changed from the Odyssey One series. This narrator couldn’t even pronounce Terran correctly and the name for one of characters. It was so distracting that I only finished the book due to loving Odyssey One.

Narrative was just a bit better than Archangel One, did pronounce Terran correctly but all other issues remained, wrong accents, names etc.

A little slow at the beginning

The story was slow at first, later chapters toward the end sped up and were very good. The space combat was very exciting.

A Triump

This story contains some of the greatest space battles ever presented in the written word.

Great entertainment!

As we’ve come to expect, Evan Currie delivers another engrossing and entertaining book. His world building, character and plot development, and pleasing writing style always make for a great read. The new reader on this one was a slight disappointment because I liked the last one so much, but it did not diminish the overall entertainment value of the book -- it just made me miss his predecessor. I highly recommend all of Currie’s book series!

Loved the Ending!!!

What a RUSH! If you enjoy military sci-fi, don’t pass this book up. It delivers an adrenaline rush by means of high octane action and suspense. If you’re not a science geek, you might want to first read a lWikipedia article on the subject of the Kardeshev scale.

I can’t WAIT to get Evan Currie’s next book in the Archangel One series! A certain Imperial Fleet Commander has a tiger by the tail!

Great continuation but too short

Parts had a lot of excitement and good techno detail, but as I said the book was too short.
My major beef with the performance was that readers really should use the same pronunciation of names as the previous reader; arrogance ruins it for thousands of listeners.

Loving this Sci Fi series!

Great story again by Evan Currie. Unfortunately with this most recent change in narrator over these last 2 books, I find the audiobook a bit frustrating with the lack of continuity in character accents. I will keep listening though and look forward to the next book.
