Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection

By: Brandon Sanderson

Narrated by: Michael Kramer, Kate Reading

An all-new Stormlight Archive novella, "Edgedancer," is the crown jewel of Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection, the first audiobook of short fiction by #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson.

The collection will include nine works in all. The first eight are:

“The Hope of Elantris” (Elantris)
“The Eleventh Metal” (Mistborn)
“The Emperor's Soul” (Elantris)
“Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania, Episodes 28 through 30” (Mistborn)
“White Sand" (excerpt; Taldain)
"Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell” (Threnody)
“Sixth of Dusk” (First of the Sun)
“Mistborn: Secret History” (Mistborn)

These wonderful works, originally published on Tor.com and elsewhere individually, convey the expanse of the Cosmere and tell exciting tales of adventure Sanderson fans have come to expect, including the Hugo Award-winning novella, “The Emperor's Soul” and an excerpt from the graphic novel "White Sand."

Arcanum Unbounded also contains the Stormlight Archive novella "Edgedancer," which appears in this audiobook for the first time anywhere. It is a story of Lift, taking place between Words of Radiance and the forthcoming Oathbringer.

What a great set of entries!

This set is absolutely must read if you are already well into the Cosmere. You should definitely have already read at minimum Mistborn 1-3 and Stormlight Archive 1 and 2. in fact, you really should read the final story here, "Edgedancer" after reading "Words of Radiance" but BEFORE "Oathbringer". It fills in some important gaps. The postscripts and introduction to each world really start tying the larger universe together.

The Mistborn 'short' story here is fantastic and serves as a great companion to books 2 and 3 of that series, but will definitely spoil the books if you haven't read them yet.

There are some other worlds here Sanderson has yet to explore in his larger Cosmere books that are a lot of fun. I anxiously look forward to more of the world featuring Silence. White Sand has some real potential. It may be a while before Sanderson can get to those worlds though (he still has to finish Stormlight 5-10, Mistborn 7, Alcatraz, and Skyward) but these are tantalizing hints of the tales to come. I thoroughly recommend this collection.

Great read if you are a fan of Sanderson's works!

If you have read tthe other works by Sanderson, then these short stories start to link them. You start to understand the secrets linking his books. I want more!!!!

brilliant

outstanding collection. answered so many questions but made so many more! love to see how the whole cosmere ties together.

Kate Reading is the worst

Another excellent book by Sanderson but I can't stand Kate Reading and the way reads.

It was great, however

I don't like Kate Reading, and she did lift's story and other stories, enunciating every single word that she kinda of ruined it for me
