Practical

This is a very informative book on Aquaponics. Something I knew very little about. It is becoming a popular way to grow food. This is very in depth book. Great illustrations and technical information, giving many options for how to have an Aquaponic garden.

insightful

Even if I don't end up making a aquaponic system (which I really want to do), this book gave me a lot to think about as far as sustainability. I found the author to write well and to be interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone with the slightest interest in aquaponics.

Experienced well

If you want to get started with or are experienced with aquaponics, this is the book for you. The information in this book, coupled with a bit of handyman plumbing knowledge is all you need to start your own set up.

Such a great book

Such as the book engineering aquaculture. I would also suggest a hands on course at an aquaponics facility. All in all a very good book and I'm very happy with the purchase, a must have if your into aquaponics, great quick reference guide and very easy to follow.

A great place to start

Very well written, and organized discussion of all you need to know. Material is presented as principles and information to work with rather than step by step rote instructions . Which is realistic since no two systems will be designed the same or be intended to work exactly the same. A great place to start

Spot on

The book goes into the theory and science of Aquaponics and it delves into several different design options. What I really liked was references to other resources. This allows you to see other design options in detail so you can come up with the best set-up for your particular situation.

Happy for this book

I'm sure this is an awesome book, but it's too technical for me. I'm trying aquaponics in a fish tank. I need something simpler.

Well-crafted!

Aquaponics is definitely a good way to meet all of these goals, and the author of this book does a great job describing the different components of an aquaponics. If you're like me and want to know more about how aquaponics systems work so that you could have your own one day, then this book is definitely worth investing in.

Thank You

The only information that this book lacks is more about the plants like: plant spacing, average plant yield in aquaponics and harvest time. But then again this is not a plant book, it is an aquaponic book.

Thorough and informative

This was the first book I purchased when I began aquaponics gardening, and I consider this book to be my aquaponics "bible" now. It's generally the first thing I reference if I have unanswered questions, and I've recommended it to others who are interested in aquaponics.

A Detailed Account

This is a very informative book. If you were only going to buy one book on this topic, this would be it. It gives you rules of thumb at the end of every chapter that condense and summarize the chapter. The flood and drain system she advocates removes the drudgery of having to clean the grow beds or replace media.

Great Guide For Aquaponics

You can have lots of guns, and lots of bullets, but what are you going to eat, long term, when it all hits the fan. Supermarkets will be looted clean, woods and forests will be all hunted out, food is going to be gold. This approach for a closed self-contained food generation system looks like the way to go.

Informative Stuff

This Book is a must have if you are starting in aquaponics gardening. It covers all the things you need to know to get started and provides sources to take you beyond. This book will appeal to anyone looking to grow their own food with a sustainable system that will fit in your backyard or anywhere you can setup a fish tank and provide light for the plants. Great project for the whole family.

Interesting

This book will tell you what you need in order to get started in aquaponics, however there is little info about the commercial growing aspects. So if you plan on starting a business this is a very good way to start but you will need other information, such as the book engineering aquaculture.

Useful

This book is very useful. Some parts are missing: how much crops can you briefly grow in a specific situation. Listening to the book, I couldn't get pump capacity versus free volume in the growing bed and the recommended timing aligned.
