Aprovéchate de Mí

Aprovéchate de mí de Xóchitl Lagunes es la novela ganadora del Premio Nacional de Novela Joven José Revueltas 2020. La novela, narrada en primera persona por el protagonista, Santi, cuenta con doce capítulos, todos titulados como canciones de Café Tacuba. Se trata de una novela gay de aprendizaje sobre una primera relación con alguien veinte años mayor. La voz del narrador es verosímil y da cuenta de un mundo, el del extrarradio de la Ciudad de México, con sus propias reglas.

Engaging and Truthful

This is a very good story. The protagonist lives an experience that helps him learn about himself and about life. The story is very engaging and truthful in the sense that it reminded me of myself at that age. The writing is strong and from the start we know how things will turn out , but we want to follow Santi because we care about him and want to know how he will handle his personal discovery. What an exciting and well written book! No wonder it is an award winning book!!!!
