The doctor

The doctor is super unlikeable throughout the first 4 episodes. I loath how she keeps calling the main character by their given name rather than their chosen name. Even in this episode we find out that Indy’s dad said they don’t go by Hyacinth. One point in the doctor’s favor is that their recorded therapy sessions at least seem to be decent and one patient feels changed for the better.

captivating

This was a very satisfying and funny story. It kept me captivated and I binged the entire thing. The performers were amazing and the personalities of each of the characters seemed defined.

I loved it

I loved the story, although hated how difficult audible made it to listen to it. I didn't like the very end, where the whole group decides to take along a destructive asshole with them. That made absolutely no sense to me.

Uncertain

Well.... First starting this book I was immediately going to stop and return it, but I decided to give it a while longer in hopes that it would get better. And... I'm glad that I did. this story is comical but revolves around real life mental health issues. Each character clearly had their own personality and illness. The illness seemed to fit the character perfectly(or maybe its the other way around) but the Audiobook narrators were exceptional. I'm looking forward to reading what happens next.

Great podcast

A lot of reviews are mentioning political views being shoved down their throat, but considering this was made in 2020 and the fictional president is denying that there is an asteroid that is about to destroy the earth… It’s a pretty accurate satire of current events. Either people are in denial of this or they didn’t like the black lesbians having guns.

Main Character Performance is annoying.

I'm halfway through as I write this so keep that in mind. The concept is pretty good but it's difficult to get into it when the main character's performance feels forced. Also her stance on things is so brash and one sided it's difficult to care for her disposition. She's so unlikeable. Other performers are good though. Hope it gets better, it's at least worth finishing.
