Publisher's summary

He's death from the sky, ready to strike. He never compromises, never lets go, never settles for second best when it comes to his offspring. He's the Apache.

With his nose-mounted sensor, night vision system, and 30mm chain gun, Simon Halder isn't your average helicopter dad, and when Island, the daughter he thought he had lost, reappears after eight months of captivity, someone's gonna have to pay.

But since pretty much everyone involved has paid already, there's only one target left in sight for this attack helicopter - Island's new boyfriend: the man people just call March.

A companion to Book 4 of the Spotless series - Butterfly in Amber - this novella is 24,000 words of gripping hitman versus helicopter dad action, including family reunions, hardcore hovering, veganism, housekeeping, and fatherly love. For your safety, please listen to the books in order. Because otherwise you'll get spoiled. Hard.

so much fun

I love both the author and the narrator. I'm excited for the next book in the series.

Zippy nightcap for fans of the series

Worth it on sale super cheap, and because I read Spotless.

For a series about hitmen and spies, it’s amazingly light- no profanity or gruesome scenes. If you are more Remington Steele than James Bond, and definitely prefer R.E.D. to Jack Reacher, this series will be right up your alley.

However, you should start with Spotless, where ordinary gal Island runs into OCD British hitman March. There’s action, suspense, comedy, and a clean romance that takes multiple books to develop. I quite liked book 1, but each successive book was of lesser value than the one before. The magic dropped off to the point that I am not getting book 4- no longer enough bang for my buck.

But, as a short novella, this one quickly gets to the good stuff. Right price for the right amount of comedic OCD hitman fun.

Terrific addition to the series!

I have read all the previous books in the Spotless series, and this one did not disappoint. While the earlier four books had lots of action and suspense, this novella took a break from that pacing and gave the reader a glimpse of the new relationship between March and Island since the traumatic events of the previous book. I absolutely loved this treat of a novella, and Amy McFadden is terrific at the narration as always. If you’re intrigued by this series, start with Spotless and read all of the books in order — it’s a wild ride!
Can’t wait for Book 6!

Keep ‘em comin’!

This novella was really good, but shouldn’t have been a novella, would have preferred it having an open ending leading to number 5. Too short but can’t wait for 5!

Oh yes--this is fun from beginning to end.

I came across Spotless series and so happy I did.

The main character is Island who started out as an IT engineer, top or her class, to be abducted by an assassin, to jump all over the world to help find the largest diamond ever and why her—well her mom stole it. Her mother had died years ago, and Island doesn’t really know much about anything, until her hazardous adventure begins.

• Book 1-Spotless, sets into story, characters and the adventure on its way. —Great Book
• Book 2-Beating Ruby, shows us that attraction between Island and March is developing, how life keeps getting in their way as they are in the middle of another adventure. —Great Book
• Book 3-Crystal Whisperer, is where the CSI, the Lions and others they trusted show are out to destroy Island and March, all because of Dries (Island’s biological father). Great action and story development. Greater Book
• Book 4-Butterfly in Amber, takes you places you never expected. I will only say excellent writing and a must read. Island will understand how much she is loved and to what ends her loved ones will go to for her. Ongoing action that you will not want to put down. I LOVE THIS BOOK—This book doesn’t miss any character, doesn’t miss any action, it has humor (so much humor), battles, love, emotional scenes—just it has everything!
• Novella—Apache Strike Force, is basically, March meets Island’s daddy. Very interesting and FUNNY! It’s so worth the money. From my understanding, there is only one more book for the series. For all of you how are interested there will be one more book in this series. “Island Chaptal and the Ancient Aliens’ Treasure”, coming out 12-12-2017. (found on Camilla Monk’s author page)

You need to read them all to get the full weight of the story—Excellent series Camilla Monk. I can’t your next book.

Amy McFadden does a great job. You are the voice of The Spotless series. —applause to you.

This was a disappointment in the series

I have been listening to this series and enjoying it quite a bit...until this book where NOTHING happens.
Kept wondering when the excitement would begin and it never did. It was simply a wrapping up of the story in a rather simplistic way.

Fun novella

Yay! I finished my listen through of the series leading up to book #5 the audio of which was released on Camilla Monk’s website this week.

Like everything else in the series this isn’t a stand alone - but it’s a fun novella to bridge the gap between books 4 & 5 and an opportunity for Island and March to experience “normal life”.

Any McFadden is fantastic as always.

Horrible

I would have to read the previous books but nothing in this one compels me to do so.

Sweet little novella

This is a great little novella to hold over all you March and Island fans until book 5. If it's lacking, it's because what makes the pair so great is how they work through the life and death situations that they find themselves. But there are still plenty of places to laugh and enjoy the characters conversations.
