But Jessie Lee survived all this and more: a troubled marriage to an alcoholic, the trials of the Depression, and the challenges of raising eight children alone. In her memoir she recalls the hardships and the triumphs and sends a stirring message about what matters most in life: friends, honesty, love, and family.
