Anger is a universal human experience. For many of us, it is the single greatest challenge in every area of our lives. We have been taught that anger itself is a sin and should be avoided at all costs. However, anger is also understood to be 'nature's way' of preparing man to respond in times of danger. How then do we go about bringing this volatile emotion under the Lordship of Jesus Christ? Gary Chapman gives us the perfect tool to answer this and many other questions in The Other Side of Love.

Are you struggling to get a handle on your emotions or find it difficult to read the emotional state of people you interact with every day and lack social calibration? Keeping a clear head and thinking straight during intense emotional moments is not something many people can do. For decades, it had been assumed, falsely, that a higher IQ correlates to a greater probability of personal or professional success. But paper after countless papers - and more importantly, the real world - have proven time and time again that this isn't the case.

Do you or someone you care about experience episodes of extreme and unpredictable anger? The first thing you need to know is that you are not alone. Researchers estimate that some seven percent of Americans may at some time experience a condition called intermittent explosive disorder (IED), which is characterized by reoccurring periods of extraordinary anger, and millions more have less frequent yet equally damaging experiences with rage. The second thing you need to know is that there is help.

Misleading title
This book does not address managing anger in relationships (as the title implies) at all. It talks about types of emotions and is repetitive.
I wasted 1 Audible credit on this to try some self improvement and it left me frustrated.

Dry and Textbook
This book is good for somebody who is studying emotions. Not a great self-help book for somebody wanting to learn to control their anger when it comes to life. It's a very dry and textbook type, the narrator sounds very robotic. So if you're looking for more of a study type book this is it for you but for me this is not at all what I was needing.

I would not recommend this book
I would imagine there are more in depth books out there. the title states it is anger management in a relationship. that was really only discussed in the last chapter. there are some self reflecting tools in the second part of the book. I skipped most of the first part in which time was also taken in explaining old theories that were now contradicted by others. Not sure what the use of that was.
