Publisher's summary

For anyone who has ever wondered about the mysteries that lie beyond everyday experience, or doubted the reality of the afterlife, Angels in My Hair is a moving and deeply inspirational journey into the unseen world.

For as long as she can remember, Lorna Byrne has seen angels. As a young child, she assumed everyone could see the otherworldly beings who always accompanied her. Yet in the eyes of adults, her abnormal behavior was a symptom of mental deficiency.

Today, sick and troubled people from around the world are drawn to her for comfort and healing, and even theologians of different faiths seek her guidance. Lorna is trusted for her ability to communicate with spirits and angels and by sharing her intimate knowledge of the spiritual world she offers a message of hope and love to us all.

Angels in My Hair is an engrossing chronicle of Lorna's incredible life story. Invoking a wonderful sense of place, she describes growing up poor in Ireland, finding work in Dublin, and marrying the man of her dreams only to have the marriage cut short by tragedy. Already a best seller in Ireland, her story gives readers a unique insight into the angelic help that is around us and available to us all the time. As Lorna says, "All you have to do is ask."

In this uplifting autobiography, a modern-day Irish mystic shares her vivid encounters and conversations with the angels and spirits she has known her entire life.

Stodgy beginning but well worth perservering

Lorna Byrne's narrative style has a guileless quality that can be difficult to adjust to. The first half of the book focuses heavily on events of her childhood and early adulthood and her tendency to describe actions in detail can make it a bit heavy going (I rang my Da. He said Hello. I said Hello.) However, it is exactly this same simple narrative style that makes her descriptions of her interactions with angels so beautiful and haunting. Hers is a story of courage, faith, perseverance and inspiration. Well worth the listen and it will stay with you afterwards.

Uplifting

What did you like best about this story?

I am widely read regarding historical, scholastic, metaphysical and theological and scientific spirituality, and I dislike religion per se so am not prone to take things on faith and have never read things about angels (at least that wasn't scholastic). But this book has done more to fill me with faith and a personal sense of relationship with the invisible than anything I've ever read. I know that what Byrne writes is true, for her descriptions of angels parallels descriptions of plant devas (energies that help plants to grow) and a host of things too large to discuss here so I can't

Insightful

Whole heartedly believe in Angels, especially Guardian Angels. Never thought about asking angels to intercede or to help solve a problem. This book helped open my eyes to those possibilities and more. Had an abortion when I was a teenager and have felt guilty for thirty plus years. Knowing that a spirit chose me despite the high possibility of me getting an abortion removed those feelings of guilt and allowed me to forgive myself. Book is insightful and thought provoking.

I will never be the same after reading this book!

I've always believed in God, but I never thought of angels. This book got my interest and it's the best book I've ever read. I now understand why I knew some things so surely before they happened like I knew I would marry my husband on the first date and I told my mom right away about it. I couldn't explain it, I just knew it. Now I know how I knew it. The performance is just absolutely amazing!!! It has every emotion, it seems like Lorna was there telling her how to exactly read it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to grow spiritually.

A touching story

It's a good thing the reader had such an engaging voice and Irish lilt. It carries the listener over some very slow spots where experiences are recounted in painful detail. Overall the story is a wonderful one and left me feeling very inspired. It does take a bit of patience to get through some of the spots though.

Engrossing book of one's person's account

I really enjoyed the book, it was told from Lorna's point of view and began right from when she was a child. This book left me with a great feeling knowning that beyond us there is more that what we can perceive or imagine. Call it what you may, but, it's there, helping us when we need the help. I recommened this book to anyone who is on the searching path.

Deeply moving book.

This is the 2nd time that I have read/listened to this book. I too have been blessed with seeing angels as well as dreams and visions.
I believe every word shared in these writings, and can hardly wait to see Jesus and the angels in heaven one day.

Not for me

I've seen a lot interviews and content featuring Lorna. I want to believe her, but the content , the interviews, and now the book seem a little to focused single-minded and almost like an excuse for the shortcomings in during the earlier part of her life. After hearing her story many times, the book sounds insincere. Just not for me.

Enjoyed this very much..

Would you consider the audio edition of Angels in My Hair to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version, but I really enjoyed listening to the Audio version and I would highly recommend this to anyone. It kept my attention and the Narrator has a very relaxing and soothing voice. I thought it was great.
