Yefremov is frequently ridiculed for his enthusiasm and faith in the viability of a communist society, as described in his best known science-fiction novel Andromeda Nebula. Fleet of Worlds takes a closer look at Human-Puppeteer (Citizen) relations and the events leading up to Niven's first Ringworld novel. Kirsten Quinn-Kovacks is among the best and brightest of her people. She gratefully serves the gentle race that rescued her ancestors from a dying starship, gave them a world, and nurtures them still. If only the Citizens knew where Kirsten's people came from.

Excellent work of utopian socialist speculative fiction. The baseless capitalist cope at the end is annoying but otherwise it's a great book. Dunno why the translator felt the need to make stuff up. It's not like the USSR is around anymore. Anti soviet propaganda nonsense just seems ridiculous at this point. Capitalists are so insecure. Anyway, the book itself is really interesting and odd. It changes modes a couple times and fleshes out a really interesting view of a full communist far future. Really good. If you like this book, you may enjoy the pc game Atomic Heart. I noticed they have a number of Yefremov's ideas incorporated into the game!
