    Jan 16 2022

Welcome to episode 258, boozers, shakers and Wine & Crime Coven! We're so grateful to kick off our last month of Christine's parental leave with the Wine & Crime gals, starting with Kenyon! First, Em covers a story close to Kenyon's past with the haunted Castle of Good Hope. Then Kenyon brings us the notorious tale of Lavinia Fisher and the Old Charleston Jail. And P.S. if Timmy gives you a bouncy ball, you just might have given your soul to Timmy... and that's why we drink!

    Jan 9 2022

Welcome to episode 257 where we deep dive into all of our hyper-fixations! Most importantly, for Xandy's last episode we have not one, but two lighthouse stories for you. First Em tells the spooky tales of haunted Point Lookout Lighthouse in Scotland, Maryland. And don't worry, the Funcles will reunite at some point in the future, so stay tuned... and that's why we drink!

    Jan 2 2022

Happy New Year! It's episode 256 and we're not judging any vegans today but we certainly are judging anyone who loves candy corn as much as Xandy. Buckle up as Em finally takes us to Savannah with the story of the Olde Pink House and some bricks that just wanted, in their soul, to be pink. Then Xandy covers a true crime case he first heard sung about in German by his father, the case of Fritz Haarmann aka the Butcher of Hanover. And please leave our peanuts alone... and that's why we drink!

Hooked

takes a little bit to get used to the semi scattered dialog. I feel like they are speaking to me. I have ADHD, London fog is my favorite drink from Starbucks, mentioned north end of Boston (I used to live in eastern MA). interesting topics, been bingeing for the past 48 hours. Mentioned Halifax, NS being a cool city, I went to Dalhousie.

Come for the stories, stay for the friendship

I've been listening to this podcast for the last two years, they were my gateway into the true crime world and also podcasts in general. Em picks fun ghost stories and Christine picks great cases, and their commentary is always entertaining. I've seen them live once before and I hear their new live show is a totally different experience. But to be honest, what really keeps me coming back is the host's 10-30 minute recap of what's going on in each other's lives. If you start from the beginning, they go from bare acquaintances to the absolute closest of best friends and it's just as entertaining as the main content itself. They go through so much together as friends and it's really fun to get to come along with them, especially with all the crazy Patreon content they have. Even if you're not interested in their personal lives, the paranormal stories juxtaposed with the true crime is always fun no matter what!

love this podcast

I love the 2 categories they tell: supernatural and crime. I like how they also incorporate listener stories.

Great start before the show turned racist.

Starting from the beginning the show was great. A little awkward at times, but overall it was fun. Fast forward to late 2019 & these loveable idiots have turned full blown racist bigots, turning what used to be a fun true crime/paranormal show into offensive politics.

Peat Moss was used as a heat source.

Good. Look up Peat Bog and how peat was kept in the home and burned as fuel. Gaelic is Irish. Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in Canada is a fiscally responsible way to see Ireland's sister.
