Beautiful romance

--I was given a copy of this audiobook for an honest review.

This was a sweet, short romance. Nice to listen to during the holidays. Steffi goes to Italy on assignment for the magazine she works for.She also has had contact from her paternal grandmother, whom she does not know, but lives in Italy. She struggles with whether to go and see her. While in Italy, she meets Paul, the photographer for the magazine she works for. Over the time they work together, they develop a loving relationship and he helps her work through her family issue.

Giselle Lumas gives an entertaining performance.

Good story

I enjoyed the theme and overall story. A good mystery was started, and I would have liked to see an ending with the heroine’s mother, but maybe that’s in another book? The narration seemed outdated and/or less professionally done.

Sweet story!

This is a sweet story full of Christian values. The characters are well rounded with distinct personalities and flaws. Together they understand themselves better and grow in wisdom and faith. Narration was a little slow at times, but the story line kept me listening.

Wonderful faith based romance

--

Gail Gaymer Martin writes an inspirational, faith-based romance. It is well written and well performed.

Stephanie receives a letter from her estranged grandmother in Italy, asking her to come. Along the way she runs into another American, a rude man who becomes an unlikely companion. Suitable for all ages.

Gisele Lumis is a great performer. There is a small issue with the background making her voice sound tinny. This is a technical glitch and did not affect the performance after listening for a few minutes.

Okay

The Christian emphasis in this book was evident throughout. The story line was nice but slow moving in a short book. The audio recording was read with such slow precision it had no flow and slowed the story even further. I had read and enjoyed another book by this author and was so excited to get this one with audio for such a low cost. So in all it was just an okay distraction on my drive.

Literally painful to listen to

What disappointed you about An Open Door?

The sound quality was horrible-sounded like it was done in a closet. The narrator seemed like she had never read a book out loud before, it was really awful. I couldn't get past more than 5 minutes-which is a first for me after listening to over 500 books!

Would you be willing to try another book from Gail Gaymer Martin? Why or why not?

If there was a different narrator, yes.

How could the performance have been better?

better sound quality and an experience narrator
