Publisher's summary

The world is a mess. It seems that everywhere listeners turn, there's another problem:

  • Iran is developing nuclear capabilities.
  • Public schools actually seem to be making our kids dumber.
  • Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom.
  • Obesity is a national epidemic.
  • The divorce rate is rising faster than gas prices.
  • Really: Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom!
  • And people are more interested in voting for the next American Idol than American President.

This just barely scratches the surface. Sadly, there's no shortage of problems - what is needed now are solutions. If only there was a man who could simplify things, cut through the rhetoric, and fix everything. Then, if he was just able to put all of that insight into something that people could buy...in a store and online...man, that would great.

    Wait a minute!

An Inconvenient Book is that very something: the one source for the Real Story behind the problems that seemed too big and complicated to solve (until now) plus their common-sense solutions. Think of it as a Hints from Heloise that's less "getting red wine out of your carpet" and more "keeping illegal aliens out of your country".

    Funny & Thought Provoking

My only complaint with this audiobook is that you can't see the graphics from the book. Glenn talks about things from Global Warming to Blind Dating with a no-nonsense approach. His use of humor to show fallacies in the "conventional wisdom" on many social and political topics is refreshing.

excelent a book that everyone should read

this book is an excellent book just like it name indicates many liberals would hate this book to the fact that it brings up some inconvenient truths about all the crap they spout

    Beck is funny

Beck is a weirdo. Sometimes he makes sence but sometimes he's way off. In this book he makes sence he tells it like it is. I gotta hand it to him he's his own man. I think eighty percent of America would disagree with this book. But his thought process is entertaining as heck..

    Eye opening facts

Great factoids, but the book is probably a better read then a listen. Glen reads the book as if he were on his radio show, and so the book is best listenned to in several sessions, rather then emersing yourself in it for long periods of time. Glen wearies the ear after awile. Also some of the facts you might want to write down, and that is difficult with an audio book. I recommend reading it rather then listenning to it.

    Solutions to every problem

Glenn Beck nails it right on the head! I have never found a book more true and relevant than this one. So much of it I agreed to;I have had the same kinds of conversations with others, with my children, family and friends. Glenn Beck really knows what is going on, he separates the good from the crap and does it all in a very entertaining way.
Save your money - don't buy florescent light bulbs it won't save the planet anyway!

    Must Listen To

I have read other reviews of this book. I don't know who posted before, but I am guessing that they are not Glenn Beck Radio listeners. Where the narrative of this book could have been better, I have found it to be very, "Beck-ish". If you do not listen to his radio program then this book can be very confusing or even borish. I am a regular listener and I found it to have moments of brilliance but some areas where I have had the book and needed to follow it.

DO NOT read this book if you are a liberal, you WILL NOT find it funny you may find it insulting. But if you can take the humor as well as some constructive criticism, then maybe.

Glenn Beck is nothing more than an entertainer with a conscience. Don't just sit here saying that this book is not worth listening/reading with out knowing what he is about. He mentions his family all the time on the radio and is maddened by all the confusing stuff that is out there. And for heavens sake open your mind to a different point of view and a little obscure humor.

    Admitted Twisted Freak...

Admitted full disclosure; I’m a sick, twisted freak… but trying to be as unbiased as possible, I loved the audio-book, and having Glenn read his own words (which would probably wouldn’t have been as funny if done by anyone other than the author) made it highly enjoyable.

If you like Glenn, you’ll love his book.

    Not what I expected

This is the first book I have gotten by Glen Beck. I thought it was a little funny but there was no more info in this book that I don't get listening to him on the radio and tv. I did not like his graphic account of a childs kidnaping/death. It was compleatly unnessasary.
The reading was good and clear and he moved quickly through the stories and I kept my attention but as the book moved along I got more and more disapointed that the content was not more interesting.

    Love the audio version

I bought the hard back as soon as it came out and enjoyed it immensely. However, because Glenn Beck is so descriptive when he speaks, I decided to buy the audio version. Not only is he hilarious, he is 'right on' with his views of the world. I enjoy listening to him as I take my daily walks.
