Publisher's summary

When an alien spacecraft accidentally destroys United Flight 4382, 27 passengers and crew are saved...but life as they knew it ceases to exist.

Five survivors find themselves on the planet Anyar, including Joseph Colsco, Mark Caldwell, and Heather Chen. Some others have different destinations.

Cast away on a planet with bizarre physical features unlike anything on Earth, Dan and Liza Oglethorpe will never again set foot on Earth. They will never again talk with family and friends. They will never again see an ocean. They are thrust into a fantastical fate that eventually leads them, six years later, after dangers are overcome and a measure of peace is achieved, to a morning in a dry valley on an alien planet...and the uncertainty of living through a battle to see evening.

Why?

Well written, compelling potential characters... but what was the point? The lack of depth and detail does nothing for the story line, doesn't establish a new story line, doesn't close loose ends... so it was a short story about a short battle, where the new people, knew better...
ok

You know when a book is over and they want you...

...to listen to the first part of the next upcoming book? That's what this whole thing should have been.

I almost spent a credit on this book, but instead saw the purchase price was just a few bucks. Glad I noticed that.

TREMENDOUS DISAPPOINTMENT

very remotely, I mean very, to story line. The protagonist were on the plane. That is it. Placed on different planet, they commence to help other primitives fight a boring war. Will return this one unless they tie it into the series later

Ah, need more.

Love this series and really can't wait for more books to come out. Someone needs to lock this guy up and only let him write, lol.

I think the book is okay

I think the book was okay however it was too short and it was a edited version of itself and a lot of detail was left out if they would have made it into a full book.
and separated from the other book series it would have been a lot better.

Short fix while you wait for the next novel

I'm a big Olan Thorensen fan and find it difficult to rate anything he puts out lower than 4 stars. As with this story, his writing is well thought out and logical, free from plot holes and unresolved tangents. I was hoping this novella would tie into the world of Anyar, and was disappointed to find this as a stand alone battle scene on a completely unrelated planet. This entire story would be a single chapter or two in a larger novel. While interesting, I would not suggest this novella if you're only invested in the world of Anyar. If your a fan of Olan's work, then the reduced price for the shorter story length could be exactly what you're looking for.

IT IS WORTH $2.49! If you loved

... the series so far then you will enjoy this short introduction of two new characters. This couple were on the same United Airlines flight as Joseph & the others. Yes I wish it was the next book, but for 2.49 it is hella "mejor que nada!". Be glad that is wasn't bloated to book size to squeeze a credit from you.

DO. NOT USE A CREDIT

I accidentally spend a credit on this 3 dollar book and was unable to return it (right after I used the credit!) the story is good. But 100% not worth 11.50.
