Publisher's Summary

Julia Sherwood's duty to her titled husband has been fulfilled with the birth of an heir, and Lord Sherwood seems far more interested in his political pursuits than in his wife. Despite parties and galas, Julia is bored. She must remain in London for the Season, or until Parliament is no longer in session, and time hangs heavy until a man from her past - the elegant and enigmatic James - suggests that she take him as her lover. James promises excitement, danger, and satisfaction. Julia finds she cannot say no to this fascinating man. Will she have to choose between her husband and her lover?

love it - contains spoilers

5* This is a sweet love story between a husband and wife, but you're not really meant to know that until the end. This is my 3rd read, and as a mom of two kids, I understand and enjoy the story even more. I will admit, after ready it the first time, this was my review "4.5* This was a nice story that kept me interested. However, if I hadn't have guessed the twist at the end from other reviews (she has the "affair" with her husband, Lord James Sherwood) I don't think I would have finished it. I would have detested the heroine, Julia. As it was, I think for the time period it was believable. There were times I wanted to yell, "It's okay to love your husband and let others know you do!" but again, for the time, everything was believable. Also, the fact that the couple already had a child, yet Julia didn't really know passion made me think less of her husband, but he does finally redeem himself with their affair in London. If it weren't for those two minor issues I would have given it 5 stars. I know though, that if those issues weren't there then the whole plot of the book couldn't have even happened, but it did keep me from absolutely loving the characters and the book as a whole...whether or not that really make sense or is fair to the author." Again, after having two kids and being married 11 years, I understand and love this story even more.

Incredibly Good!!!!

This is a very short story, but it is very well-written, and thoroughly entertaining. I loved all the characters and I was rooting for a happy ending because they deserved it.

Heather Wild has a gorgeous and elegant voice and she brought the story to life.

On the basis of this novella, I am now reading more of this author's books.

I highly recommend this book.
