Hannah Stoltzfus is a 20-year-old Amish girl who doesn't like the family restaurant business. She would much rather the family still owned the farm that they had worked for generations. It doesn't help that the business is struggling, and there is pressure every day.

Hannah's mother feels that the time is right for her daughter to marry. However, there are no suitable candidates that catch her eye. Only Daniel, who works in the restaurant, appears to be an option. But Hannah has little interest. Then a handsome Englisch lawyer called Max walks into the restaurant one evening and captivates Hannah. Not only is he a lawyer but he also has valuable insights into how the business should be run. Is Hannah finding herself falling in love with an Englischer?

Meanwhile, the dashing Mark Spicer is always on the lookout for the last scam or trick. When he involves a shunned Amish man in his schemes, they plan something that they believe can make them rich. But who is going to suffer?
