3 Benuel Miller, Amish detective stories. . .
- Amish Twin Trouble
When a stranger enters Benuel’s secondhand shop, the man is shocked by Benuel’s accurate assessments and unsolicited advice. Wary, he hopes Benuel won’t find out his true intentions, but the shopkeeper is already on the case.
Later, Mari and her twin sister, Frannie, stop in Benuel’s shop with Frannie’s three-year-old son, and Benuel senses trouble. His hunches have never led him astray, but is he misreading something here? He can’t help being drawn to Mari. Yet is she as sweet and loving as she seems?
Or is she hiding a deep, dark secret?
One explosive night when tragedy strikes, Benuel risks his life to find out the truth. Can he unmask the stranger from his shop to foil a sinister plot? But will what he discovers destroy his only chance for love?
Now it’s all up to him. . .
If he doesn’t uncover the truth, innocent people will suffer.
- Amish Wedding Day Revenge
Benuel Miller is blissfully happy to be marrying the love of his life. When his bride-to-be doesn’t show up on their wedding day, he worries she’s changed her mind about marrying a blind man.
But the truth is far more sinister. . .
A criminal bent on revenge interrupts Mari’s joyful preparations to wed the man of her dreams. She’s shocked to see a felon who should be behind bars, and she has no idea she’s in for the most harrowing experience of her life.
Benuel is a detective, but can she leave clues he can find?
If this dastardly scheme succeeds, will Mari ever see her beloved again?
- Missing Amish Daughter
Detective Benuel Miller has solved other crimes. But when his eleven-year-old daughter, Susanna, doesn’t come home after school one day, and her pony cart returns without her, he’s baffled.
After Susanna’s mamm died five years ago, Benuel and his daughter worked as a tight-knit team. She served as his eyes, his driver, and his partner in solving crimes. Now, though, Benuel has remarried, and Susanna’s stepmother, Mari, has taken over those roles.
Although Mari tries to include her, Susanna can’t help feeling left out. When she disappears, Mari fears her stepdaughter has run away. Benuel and Mari search for clues, but Susanna has disappeared without a trace.
For Susanna, the nightmare has only begun.
Can she find a way to escape? Or will she end up dead?

Just enough suspense
I really liked that these stories had just enough suspense without getting really scary or violent.

Virtual voice mispronounces foreign words. It can’t tell difference between secret-ed and se-creted.
The story itself contained a predictable plot. The characters lacked the depth and development necessary to make them believable.

vertial voice sucks!
Story was ok. A lot of mistakes referring to past instances within the story. Vertial voice has no place in audio books.
