As her father's oldest unmarried daughter, most of the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings is now hers ever since her mother passed away. Ella Ruth's new stepmother and stepsisters do little to help, only adding to her workload.
At the masquerade gala, Ella Ruth has an instant connection to James Baldwin, the wealthy heir of a car dealership chain. Nicely written and enjoyable
I enjoyed the book. Well written, enjoyable. I had it read to me by the audible voice version and it was well done.
