Publisher's summary

One day I was bebopping along, jamming to the music in my head while wondering if my thighs could handle grabbing a cupcake on the way home. The next thing I knew, my entire world crashed and burned.

I used to wake up at night in a sweat, crying because I'd dreamt that my husband was cheating on me or that he hated me and resented my kids. He'd always hold me close and tell me it was all just a dream, that he loved me and our family and that he'd never let me go.

He was a f--king liar.

Now I spend my days taking photos of scum just like him, trying to be a champion for others being taken advantage of by the losers in our town, and my nights being a single mom to my beautiful twins.

I've got great friends who have my back and a sexy, mysterious motorcycle man who keeps showing up when I need him. Maybe things are starting to look up, and one thing's for sure.... There's always room for cupcakes.

Cute Romantic Suspense

This was an enjoyable listen. Even though it was a relatively short audio it didn't seem like it. It had the right amount of romance and suspense. There was even some humor in this one. I really liked how this book turned out. Lila was an awesome heroine and she was fearless. This was my first from the narrator. I think she did a good job and was a good fit for this character. Overall a good listen.

Love me some cupcakes...

Overall I thought this story was pretty good. It had quite a few laugh out loud moments. I wasn't however crazy about the narration. I felt she was just reading the words off the pages instead being into the character of the story.

Great!

Any additional comments?

Loved! New author for me, but definitely worth checking out. Great characters, great tone, great story... I'd recommend it. This was my first audiobook, and I loved it.

Sound quality not the best

This is a good story, but the fluctuations in volume recordings was annoying. It was like it was recorded on a cell phone and the narrator would randomly turn her head away from the microphone. I enjoyed this book way more than any Plum character books.

Just one thing

Great story , it even had humor along with suspense. The only thing I didn't like was that the h left her home after she caught her cheating ex. Her husband is a bank manager, She was a stay at home mother. She catches HIM cheating & SHE leaves her home & moves into a crappy apartment. Not happening!

A more mature Stephanie Plum-fun and entertaining!

Would you listen to Always Room for Cupcakes again? Why?

No, I wouldn't listen to Always Room for Cupcakes again. I rarely listen to books more than once, so this isn't a reflection of the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This whole story revolves around Lila and I have to say that she was definitely my favorite character. If you've read Janet Evanovich, she's like a sassier, more mature (stronger language) Stephanie Plum. She calls her ex-husband "The Douche" throughout the book when referencing him. I enjoyed her a lot.

What does Stephanie Garner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think that Stephanie Garner did a good job with this narration. She's got a solid, strong voice and I could easily differentiate between the various characters. A good narrator can make or break an audiobook. She brought strength and sass to Lila and brought a realness to the the characters.

Who was the most memorable character of Always Room for Cupcakes and why?

Again, the most memorable character for me in this book would have to be Lila for the reasons that I already mentioned above.

Any additional comments?

Don't let the title fool you! This sounds like a cute novel with NO language and everything very vanilla. Haha...Seriously, if you like Janet Evanovich, you should enjoy this one as well. I could definitely see the author developing these characters more and making this into a series.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

A more mature Stephanie Plum

What made the experience of listening to Always Room for Cupcakes the most enjoyable?

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."
Wonderful writing, strong characters and a story line credible, funny, and tragic at the same time.

What did you like best about this story?

Lila's capability of making lemonade from those sour lemons life gave her and the lesson not to judge a book by its cover.

Have you listened to any of Stephanie Garner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Definitely smile...

Any additional comments?

I didn't find the language used any stronger that many other books on the market and the sexual content was in tune with the story line and not used to create unnecessary drama.

Always room for cupcakes

This was my first book written by Bethany Lopez as well as my first narration from Stephanie Garner, and I have to say both were amazing. The book is a romantic suspense, but has a mostly fun comedic side to it. There are times when Lila the lead character is in danger, but she mostly seems unaware of it for the most part, getting her into all sorts of situations. I've just grabbed the next book in the series, and can't wait to see what she manages to stumbleupon next.

Lila, caught her husband of 10 years with another woman. In a moment of shock she took pictures for proof and ended up sharing the pictures with the whole town. This lead to her becoming a photographer for a PI, she took pictures of cheating spouses in the act. Until the boss Moose takes on a client that lands them all it some hot water.

Fun Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book that is written by Bethany Lopez and narrated by Stephanie Garner. Lila is a divorced mom of twins who is trying to make ends meet. She goes from being a stay at home mom, to an investigative photographer who takes photos of cheating scum bags who are cheating on their wives. If you are looking for a great book with humor, then you need to read this book.

The narrator Stephanie Garner did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Boring narrator

Couldn’t get past the monotone voice of the narrator. Listened to entire book but won’t purchase another one.
